Alcorn State's Pro Day: What are we to make of it?

*speechless*

How does the process work? Are staffers/admins/scouts at nfl/cfl notified of the dates? Do smaller schools local to larger schools leverage the invite to the scouts to swing by while in their area?

I think more schools need to do consolidated Pro-Days to take advantage of getting scouts to see their athletes. Make it easier for the scouts as they can't get to every location in the country to see these athletes.

A couple of them went to USM’s. But it sucks for the players who didn’t get that opportunity.
That’s embarrassing. The folks In charge Should’ve canceled It.

"Alcorn who in charge?"

Wow.....will this affect recruitment?
I doubt it. Let’s be honest, we (FCS programs) don’t really go after kids who will legitimately be on the NFL’s radar. Some may develop into that, but coming out of high school, there’s a reason that FCS schools are their best option. And Alcorn will continue to get those kind of kids.

I don't know when the Mississippi schools (well really JSU and Alcorn. Valley always just send theirs to the nearest day available that will let them participate) started doing their own thing but at this point, unless you are Grambling, we need to be doing combined Pro Days. Maybe Alcorn can't pull enough interest by themselves but Valley and JSU along with maybe DSU, MC and Belhaven and you might be able to siphon a scout or two who is in the area at Ole Miss or MSU.

Here’s my thing- who da hell waits to April to have a Pro day? Any fool can tell you that teams start hosting their “30-Visit” guys April 1st. Teams’ entire Rookie Personnel scouts are with the team in their respective cities. Mind you they’ve been grinding it out on the road since the Combine in Indy. They are not about to get back on the road for a couple of SWAC players.

Bad management by Alcorn. And it really sucks for those players.

They where in Baton Rouge the last 2 days, so that is not true. The issue is that the players that scouts wanted to see worked out else where so they could run on turf for 40 speeds and get in front of more scouts. Carter Not working out for Tech helped out other players be seen

SU neve has this problem ever. Every team was SU’s pro day. More than was at Grams.
