Oh I have that... just looked. I just don't have the SWAC bylaws.

4.2 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS AND OTHER POST SEASON INCOME
4.2.1 Revenue. Revenue received from the distribution of net receipts from NCAA Championships, primarily derived from the
Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, shall be distributed in the following manner:
(a) Basketball Pool- 1st round funds for participating in the NCAA Basketball Tournament be distributed as follows: 25%
participant, 50% all conference members, including the participating institution, and 25% Conference Office.

(b) Basketball Pool- Funds from 2nd round participation in the NCAA tournament to be distributed at 50% to the
participating team for the entire time the participating team is eligible to receive the additional unit; and the remaining
50% distributed as follows; 25% to the non-participating institutions and 25% to the Conference Office.

3.9 Conference Revenues

Any conference member who participates in a national, regional, or sectional bowl game and/or a televised contest, or meet, whether during the regular, pre-season, or post season, will share its part of the television revenue with the conference office and other members of the Conference. The above policy includes cable television.

The participating conference institution will retain sixty percent (60%) of the gross and forward the balance of forty percent (40%) to the conference office for inclusion in the conference treasury.

All funds received by the Southwestern Athletic Conference become the property of the Conference and shall be administered in accordance with the SWAC Constitution and Bylaws or instructions from the Council of Presidents.

Before a distribution of revenues is made to the membership, the Conference office budget must be balanced for the year. After approving the budget, it is the charge of the Conference office to distribute equal shares to each institution with the men’s and women’s regular season winners, the men’s and women’s NCAA basketball tournament participants and the SWAC Football Champions receiving one extra share. The runner-up in the football championship game will receive an extra half share.

The Council of Presidents at each annual meeting will determine the amount to be distributed to the membership based upon criteria established by the Council of Presidents.

Once a new commissioner is named that bylaw has to be revised.

It really challenges the mind trying to figure out how ten presidents signed off on putting the operations of the conference office ahead of the institutions they serve. The institutions that have/had them under contract.

It didn't matter to me if the office moved or not. I just remember all the talk from JSU folks like TP, the SU crew and Texas folks bragging about how life would be like the golden paradise in Houston......... Seems like they went off of perception like most black folks......

Kenn, stop with the Tom & Jerry act. YOU saw me post in here saying I couldn't care less what town its in so long as its a fiscally responsible decision.

The way it reads.... The presidents control it all either way. They, at the time, agreed to it and still decide the distribution.

Well, unfortunately, I understand the reasoning for the rule. If you don't have the money to keep the conference operable, you don't have a conference at all. I've said it before and I will say it again. When you have a merry-go-around of SWAC presidents coming in and out, combined with a commissioner who clearly had no clue, this is the end result.

You tried to slick drag A&M when I pointed out the foolishness caused by the SWAC office. You seem to have a sore spot about folks who call out the Houston move. Whats up with that?
