New Era for TxSU

One was called back because of illegal formation and the other was called back because he didn't catch the ball. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

What a lot us already knew, injuries to a starter would be devastating

yes. The photo shows he caught the ball.

The picture John Posey showed is the catch Griffin made after stepping out of bounds... Smh. That was the ONLY TSU TD called back. You didn't score on the fake punt.

Can you comment on sTu without it being hate. Ole Miss looked improved in the first half then the bottom fell out. Alcorn looked good but we never saw adjustments by either team in the second half. sTu looked better in spots and PV looked bad but injuries are a part of the game and PV won. We will need to see more to says sTu is on the right path...Has nothing to do with JSU...

If our starting QB got hurt, there wouldn't be an excuse under the sun that anybody would have accepted. Our "ifs" would NOT have been entertained.

PV back up QB more than likely will be as good if not better than Tre Green. A much different situation than at TSU.

Even at that is arguably the best QB in the SWAC goes down, it would have made a huge difference in the game.

A photo cannot show someone completed a catch. If it is the photo Posey posted showing him touching the ball but not showing his feet, the location, nor the final result then that is not proof of anything other than the fact that he had the ball at some point in the process.

Bewildered is right, time to move on. ESPN, A photo journalist and my opinion will not change the outcome of the game. It is over.

That is only one photo, he is not showing all of them. think he has had a problem with his photo's being used with out his permission

Apparently. I am sure he will provide them for a price. Winning a debate is not worth it.

He plainly states in the post he has the photos to prove his statement...

Right but he never posts it and doesn't seem to understand that photos do not prove whether someone completed a catch according to the rules of the game.

Perhaps you are correct, however he states he has been shooting various athletic events for over twenty years. I do not know. I will have to leave this to the photography experts.

I was also very impressed with our team and can't wait to see how we handle our next game (HBU).
PV- the stadium is beautiful along with the campus......I also walked outside the stadium and saw the baseball, track, and soccer stadiums-awesome!

J4L, there were no questionable catches in the game so I'm not sure what photo this guy keeps talking about. Like I said earlier the only TD that was called back for sTu was the one when Griffin stepped out of bounds PRIOR to catching the ball in the endzone. Before that he attempted to make a diving catch in the back of the endzone but dropped that one.

I thought Griffin was pushed out on that play. There was an illegal formation penalty called on the same play. If a receiver is pushed out, he is allowed to continue the play as long as he come right back in the field of play.

The penalty against Texas Southern for illegal formation was a GREAT call on the fake punt.

On scrimmage kick formations you can have number exceptions (u do not need to have 5 players on the line with numbers 50-79). Once TSU shifted out of a punt formation back to a regular scrimmage kick formation u must have 5 players numbered 50-79 on the line.

Once u line up in a scrimmage kick formation with a number exception you can't shift and make a scrimmage kick formation a legal scrimmage formation

That's exactly what I was thinking. Since they shifted out of scrimmage kick formation they were subject to regular scrimmage play rules.

sTu will be a beast as long as Haywood is in the building. If he wouldn't have screwed up in Pitt, he would be a big deal in the FBS coaching would at this point. sTu gives him a chance to win again and put his name back on the main stage. This shapes up great for him after Hopson got a FBS call. Now, the SWAC will get more attention when FBS programs are looking for a new coach who can make lemonade out of lemons. Haywood has already proven his magic works at Miami Ohio. Enjoy the journey sTu while it last. Haywood is going to make sTu a HBCU power. Unlike Hopson, Haywood is going to beat non conference FCS schools to draw attention to him.

He wasn't pushed out. He only stepped out of bounds and came back in.

Not confirmed... Reports out of sTu... Tough news if true.

Just got off the phone checking on the status TSU quarterback Jay Christophe....He is out for the season with a knee and injury. He was killing the game when he got hurt in the opener...Great kid...He will graduate in December with an engineering degree

My younger cuzzo in the hbu backfield tore an acl so he is not playing today.

Go get the victory sTu.
