Could we have a SWAC vs. MEAC Play-In Game?

No doubt about it. Those 7 SWAC losses really hurt SU. He committee is being pretty nice to the minor majors this year. I think SU would have had a #15 or #14 if they could have only loss 2 or 1 conference game.

True. Looking at oregon schedule, a lot of their games were close. We have to get their big 6,10 dude in foul trouble

When its all said and done. Kansas will be the only number 1 seed in the F4. Oregon wont or unc. Virginia hmmmmm idk 6
 
I watched Oregon a lot this year due to my second profession and once thing about them they can score but they do lack on the defensive end. The whole pac 12 struggled defensively. This game will be physical for Oregon as the PAC 12 don't really play physical like the SWAC do
 
Y'all need to stop playing yourselves. Any team less then the SWAC regular season champ were going to play in the first four games.

Yeah i can tell. They were winning like 86-80 games . No Defense at all lol
 
Although I think Hampton will get beat to sleep, they did whip Iowa that year when everyone said the same thing. lol If history repeats itself I wouldn't be mad. lol Although I doubt lady luck strikes twice. lol

You really don't understand how this seeding thing work. You seeding also reflects how the committee views your conference as much as it reflects on your team.

1. Beating MEAC teams WON'T help your cause. If Southern beat Hampton, all it would've done was make Southern a true 16 seed and Hampton in the play-in game.
2. Scheduling D-2, NAIA and lower teams for home games HURT YOU! Your conference members scheduling D-2, NAIA and lower teams for home games HURT YOU AS WELL.
3. You're already at a disadvantage in nonconference because of the road-heavy OOC schedules.
4. LOSING games against lower-tier mid-majors HURT YOU worse than losing to Duke in OOC. Conference titles are determined in March. However, conference seeds are developed in nonconference play.

Austin Peay's RPI was 188 and they are 18-17 going into the Dance. The reason they got a 16 and Southern is in Dayton is:
1. The other OVC teams scheduled better, and won, their games in nonconference.
2. There were five other OVC teams higher than Southern and Peay. Texas Southern was the only other SWAC team with an RPI above 200, and that's Texas Southern at 190.
 
LMAO...the SWAC Conference's competition is the MEAC. Now you all can choose to sit back and continue to make excuses all you want to. I prefer to look my competition in the eye and compete with them Head to Head.

Vitale on ESPN just said the same thing about Kentucky and Indiana not playing each other. You think it's pure coincidence that if Kentucky and Indiana win their opening games, they will play each other next round.

As I have preached on and will continue to preach: HBCU Sports is its own market in general. I am sick and tired of the damn excuses we come up with for not playing competition amongst ourselves. So what if SU and Hampton playing each other wouldn't have changed seeding? Would have been good for HBCU Sports.

The SWAC Needs the MEAC and the MEAC needs the SWAC. As for playing D2 Schools...if they are HBCUs, Why not play them. A lot of you are trying to put the SWAC outside the HBCU Market just like FAMU once did. We are not FBS. We are HBCU.

Lady Luck has struck the MEAC 3 times as the #15 seed. I hope she strikes again. I also hope she strikes twice for Southern because the Jags spanked Georgia Tech back in the early 90's. I do agree that Hampton got the best deal of the #16 seeds. Virginia is a good team, but they aren't a sure final four team. They know their #1 seed a lot better than any other #16 seed knows their opponent as well. I don't think they will win, but they can very well play a tough game.

Southern better not lose to Holy Cross. There is no excuse for them not to make it to a game with Oregon.

1. Kentucky/Indiana is a totally different beast than what you're talking about. We're talking about the upper crust of college basketball. Lawmakers from both states want them to play and have passed resolutions. Kentucky basketball vs. Indiana basketball is the Hatfields vs. McCoys.

2. That whole SWAC/MEAC thing isn't as big in basketball, where it's all Division I, than it is in FCS football, where the SWAC/MEAC and certain rivalries have been established for decades.
In Division I basketball, all the one-bid leagues and mid-majors are the competition. All the bigger conferences are your competition.

3. If you're trying to get a higher seed in the NCAA Tournament, playing D-2 and lower schools HURT YOUR RPI!
 
Look At Ya...already talking about Hampton is going to get dragged by Virginia etc. As if a SWAC Team would have done better.

Is the SWAC Tournament Champion better than the SWAC Regular Season Champion. Why should I as a SWAC Alum have any more faith in a SWAC Tournament Champion when the SWAC Regular Season Champion had a larger body of work to prove they are Champion.

Yet, you all are going to come on this forum and say another HBCU is going to get killed? We all are HBCUs. Stop the Self-Hate.
