Well it was mentioned on facebook that the students who are trying to "take back txsu" are now boycotting the games. I'm not sure what kind of sense that makes but it certainly doesn't help that TSU's own students aren't going to the games now.
Ok great thats good u do good deeds at txsu. But we talking about txsu vs bama st on espn on thursday smh. What shine would especially txsu football get on espn on saturday or thursday? Please answer that question?Your time? On youtube? Interesting. We have a mentor program for band students of which I'm a part of. Haven't seen you there giving time. Been on campus and even worked there and helped students get in school, helped students find their way through understanding loans etc...just on my feet like countless other TSU alum. Didn't see any blue and gold there. Didn't expect it either...because it doesn't exist. Don't get me wrong...this isn't against YOUR school but I just don't see how suggesting other schools shouldn't get any shine of their own makes a good foundation for all this altruistic thinking round these parts...
U can't say that because JSU hosted TxSU in I think 2011 On a Thursday night and the attendnCe was 26,000 I do believe . So it's all on how the hosting school markets the game !!! So yes I'm sure atleast 25,000 would attend a Thursday night game vs JSU n SU in Baton Rouge .Would the schools for either of the games you mentioned be willing to play on a Thursday night? Most of our fans save up and travel for weekend games. Most of our constant attended games are not willing to change dates. It may have been a good crowd but I seriously doubt there would've been 25K at the JSU-SU game a few weeks ago if the game were on a Thursday night.
If you go back and look at the games played on Thursday's, most were typically low attended games even if they were played on Saturday. Now, does the schools receive compensation from being on tv? If so, I'm sure the compensation would equal or be greater than had last night's game been on Saturday.
Good point but trust me racist shit still rules this country. They'll take a hit in the pocket versus showing something positive pertaining an HBCU. I see you must be one of the many blacks that think racism is non existent lolWhy would ESPN try to hinder showing games that more people would watch when umm... ya know... they get money based off of ratings? lol
Take it back !!!! Who has it now ???Well it was mentioned on facebook that the students who are trying to "take back txsu" are now boycotting the games. I'm not sure what kind of sense that makes but it certainly doesn't help that TSU's own students aren't going to the games now.

Of course they are playing us. Which to me I think is a waste because they could have use that game to schedule a D2 and then have at least two good crowds this year.

The reason JSU had a good crowd was due to marketing. For that game, JSU made all tickets $5. Do you honestly think either school would change their prices to $5.

Now that I'm living in Houston I can understand why attendance is the way it is. They have way more options to do things here and the passion for black college football is not a top priority for Houstonians.
To be honest, I'm glad they are showing the SWAC games on Thursdays. Hell, you never know who could be watching. Might inspire kids who have never heard of some of the SWAC schools to give them a try. It's all free advertising for whomever is playing that night.

I think the schools have much more influence on the Thursday night slate than the network.

Isn't there a clause in the contract that each school has to play on a thursday so many times during the contract.
We've been saying that for years but everyone who doesn't live here or been here regularly would always quote Houston as the 4th largest city in the country.
Glad to hear someone that is one of the transplants here to the area say it too.
