I Don't See Charlie Strong Lasting Too Much Longer at Texas.

    Yeah they do. But again, who they going to get and if other coaches see they did that to Charlie Strong then they will get nobody but assistant coaches apply. Lol. Even Muschamp got 3 years at Florida. I guess they can hire Muschamp back. Lol

You mark my word bruh. You let him win 6 games or less this season and watch just how fast they get rid of him. The only way they keep him with 6 wins is if he finishes on a streak or upsets a top 25 team towards the end of the season and wins a bowl game.

i'm not even doubting it because it could happen (Notre Dame dominated them) but if they do, they will go to Michigan udner Brady Hoke status for a while. No coach worth anything would go there. They'll overpay for a former NFL coach or some other school's coach.

Dude got 11 players drafted from the team he left in Louisville last year. Them necks better hold their horses
 
He is safe after this season. He came to a team that had ZERO players drafted in Mack Brown's last season. First time in about 6 decades for that program.

They know he needs time to recruit

I don't know man. he's got rice this week, which he should win. then they should beat cal at home week after that, but if they mess around and let cal get him he's in big trouble cause he's got ok. st coming in week after that, then it's the red river showdown after that. he gets beat at home by a cal team he shouldn't lose to, then a good chance it gets outta hand again at home the week after that vs osu...I just don't know, especially if they get beat bad by ou up in dallas that next week cause the week after is a bye.

I woulda agreed with you if they hadn't got beat as bad as they did last night, but they just looked awful. I don't see one more year making the difference. only thing might save him would be ut worrying about their image after all the talk when strong got hired.
 
Charlie will have at least one more year to get UT going in the right direction. You can't fire a coach after one recruiting class. I don't count the recruiting class he brought in the year he was hired because he got a late start recruiting in the state of Texas. He has to have another good recruiting class and find him a QB. I like to think his QB is already on campus (Jerrod Heard), but we'll see. UT started a total of eleven freshmen and sophomores on Saturday night (6 freshmen, 5 sophomores).

They are not firing Strong this year. That would set them back even further. If there was a hot candidate available. Then I can see it. There is no one available. Texas wants a big name. Hell they barely got Charlie. Nobody wanted the job after Saban said no. Art Briles even said no. Patterson at TCU didn't want it. They are stuck for a minute and they know they have to let him get at 3 years in. Those necks are crazy. But not that crazy. If Mackovic who they hated lasted longer than 2 years. So will Strong. Notre Dame is just better than Texas. Everybody knew that going in. They also know Mack left him with no damn QB. Swoopes sucks.

Unfortunately, he got 4 and will still collect $2.3 million from them while being employed at Auburn. Florida's AD was way too nice to him. lol
 
Coach Strong will have another season, but it will be a season of alot of scrutiny and pressure.. Thoes alumni will be all on his back.. I feel he really needed to get a better offensive coordinator then Watson.. that's where he's losing at, if he goes 6-6 he has to bring in a different play caller cause Watson is not it

Y'all are in for a rude awakening if this man wins less than 6 games this year. This is Texas! Not UTSA or even Houston, he is being paid big bucks to win asap. The "rebuilding" term only goes so far with the box office P5 programs. Expecially when you are black head coach.

That BS. I have lived in Texas. They ain't firing him this year. Again who will they hire if they did that? What right minded coach would take the job? I was in Texas during the Mackovic years and they hated they dude. He lasted longer than 2 years. Texas ain't firing Strong with no big Name coach already committed to come to Austin. Folks are over reacting to them losing to ND who has a much better team with more talent that are all Brian Kelly's recruits.

Texas fires Strong and they will suck the rest of the decade. Mack Brown got lazy and this is what was left.

I'll put it like this.....If Strong continues to lose I wouldn't be surprised if they show him the door. I work with a neck that is a UT grad and big time supporter and he didn't want Strong there. He said a bunch of the alums felt the same. I don't expect them to fire him because for one it would be a PR nightmare and two the AD seems to understand that Mack Brown was sleeping at the wheel during his last few years there. They gotta get back their recruiting territory from A&M, TCU, and OU.
 
Black coach or not. It would send a bad message and the coaching profession would be like fugg Texas if you fire a coach in year 2 with no violations or something off the field. I could see if he walked into a 10 win team and immediately took them down to a 6 win or less team. Which then I can understand folks wanting him gone in year 2. He definitely has to win in year 3. His best bet is to find a QB who is wanting to transfer in with experience.

These UT folks out here are delusional man. Let them tell it they were a premier program before Strong got there. It's sort of like George W. Bush with these folks. They like a white guy that they could see themselves having a beer with before liking a black guy that has the right ideas and can right the ship.

The problem they have is the white boy big names don't want the job either. Deloss Dodds protected Mack. Even before the Vince Young title. Now they have Patterson as AD. The only coach I can see him get is Graham from Arizona State. Since they go way back. Other than that. No big names are coming unless Chip Kelly gets fired or quits the Eagles. Even then, he may rather go back West. Especially if Sark keeps having public appearances being drunk or on drugs at SC. Lol.

I think Kirby Smart would take it if offered. As well as Will Muschamp.
 
It would amaze you at the lengths white folks will go to get a winning program. I predict the Texas Boosters are already trying to get back in contact with Saban. Saban has lied before.
 
Anything can happen. I'll put it like this, as bad as texas looks and with their schedule they could possibly start the season 0-7 or 1-6. They get Rice at home this weekend but that's not even a guarantee like it once might've seemed.
 
They won't start that badly. There are only 2 teams on their schedule as good as or better than ND. OU is a rivalry game that could go either way.

The Cal game will tell how this season will likely go.

Saban ain't leaving Bama for another school. He may go try the NFL one last time.

I lived in Texas as well and have Texas alums in my family. So what. None of that matters. All I know is that Texas is a major P5 program that expects to compete for titles. There coaches get paid to win. Unlike many FBS schools, Texas has the bank accounts to get rid of coaches faster than others

If Strong loses 7 or more games this year, he will be gone faster than he can stand on his podium stool.
