just from looking at the tape a Pistol formation would do wonders on confusing the Gram Linebackers & your back should be able to leak out some & beat that blitz

another thing is teams don't seem to attack the weak side of Gram's defense enough. Valley did this a few times and got huge plays but their execution wasn't great doing it all night.

Just saw the replay of our center #51 spit on the Valley player. I hope that his ass is suspended for the rest of the season!!!! :upset: He does not represent Grambling Football AT ALL!!!!!! I apologize to the Valley Nation for that foul action!!!!!

I can't wait to watch the game on ESPNU. I wanna see what provoked our center to spit on another player. I'll stop right there.

Good job G-Men. Way to find a way to win on the road on a Thursday night. I watched the replay of this game and was reminded of the Valley game of 2005.

Now that Valley is out of the way, it's time to get back to business next week

Man looking at BCC vs NSU is like looking at a LAHS jamboree game.

I can't believe gram loss to this..... seriously. :smh:

Norfolk has one of the best defenses in FCS. If they had an offense who could at least score 2 TD's a game, they would already have about 7 wins this season.

Grambling lost to BCC, (Who beat FIU), during a period of adjustment to the new system. BBC is still a good team and would beat most teams in the SWAC.

From this game from what I witnessed
Gram's Dline (front 7 really) is the truth. They run a very risky defense but they bank on the SWAC not having the QB's to make them pay for it.
They run a ton of red dogs (delayed blitzes & zero coverage)

If anyone ever figures out how to block that blitz package it a wrap for Gram cause their backend isn't that good at all.

What separates Gram's QB from the typical SWAC QB is that he stands in there despite the pressure and makes the tough throw. He did that all night, impressive. Doesn't look big at all, but he's a tough guy taking those shots like that. Very accurate too.

I think we may have a little something something.

I think you all might as well. Watching that game put everything in perspective now. Gram's Defense is the main ingredient for their wins despite their awesome QB play. Great coaching by Fobbs. Gram is beating the entire SWAC with defensive formation football. By the time your Offense lines up it is already beat. I see why JSU gave Gram problems & Alcorn had its toughest day. While JSU isn't coached no where near to the level of Gram...JSU had a WR #81 & a QB with a arm to get him the ball.

If SU has anything at the QB & WR positions the Bayou Classic will be a beast this year.

Great analysis. Should be a great BC :) . I noticed Grams weakness is SU strengths. Fobbs and staff has done a great coaching, as Gram isn't all that talented team at all.

Give me a break please. That was a hot mess, all around.

Gram is talented now, they just kinda built like Alcorn. Gram talent is that Dline & Linebacker section (and their QB). Those guys are insane. No one else can run the type of Defense Gram is running and get away with it because they don't have the talent upfront. Those Gram Dtackles and Dends are unreal with how they get off the ball on the snap & then get penetration into your backfield.

Most Swac teams would get ran through all day having 2-3 Dlineman on the field all game. They should get pushed around but they don't. I'm actually astounded with how good they are.

Who knew that THAT Valley would end up making Grambling work every minute for that win. Glad to see that the game was competitive all the way to the end. Social media is having fun with the sprinkler incident but still other than the spitting incident most say it was a good game and a good look for both teams (especially Grambling)

You have been spot on dude. I have been excited about Breed and Steve O since they signed with us last year. I knew these kids would be a beast at GSU. Although I am not a big fan of our defensive scheme, those two kids are a perfect fit for it.

Before the season began, I told everyone that we would either see a great season or horrific season with our schemes. I knew it wouldn't be an "ok" or average season. So far, things are looking great. Fobbs and his staff have Grambling back to our winning ways.

Good defense equals less exciting games. BCC is not a bad team and would beat most of the teams in the SWAC. It's amazing how folks think a team is bad after watching 1 game.

What's amazing is how people tend to forget that people they are posting things to can actually read and they tell a bold face lie about a below .500 team having one of the best defensive team in the country.

Dude. Do you know how many teams in college football have had good defenses and still had losing seasons? Norfolk State has a awful offense and a real good defense. That's why they are 4-6. If that offense could at least score 2 TD's a game, their record would be much better. That's a fact. Their defense hasn't given up more than 2 TD's in a game in 6 weeks of football!

And for the record, you just watched the watched the #2 defense take on the #3 defense in the FCS rankings. So please get your facts together before you call someone out for posting lies.

Nah man that was moreso bad offense by Norfolk. Did ypubsee Norfolk's QB play?

I agree BCU would beat a bunch of SWAC teams but that wasn't a a defensive battle it was an offensive struggle.

Our team two years ago. #4 defense overall (#1 in a few categories). Struggled offensively.

My mom feels Valley has been playing dirty but to me that is no excuse.

They do play dirty.

I remember when we played them after the play was over a OL fell down and rolled into the back of our LB/DE Claibourne and he missed several games because of the injury. A Valley receiver and our corner (Tray Walker) got into a Andre Rison/Deion Sanders type fight right when the ball was snapped trying to get in Tray's head to make him swing on him to get him ejected.

Like a JSU alum said lasy night at my house while watching the game....the administration noticed this about Comegy's team and this was one of the factors discussed behind closed doors.

That's sort of the culture of his squads. They generally lack discipline.

They act like goons. And Comegy don't discipline them. He encourages them. But what always pissed me off is they would get crazy penalties at the wrong time of the game that would cause us to lose the game. And I see that Comegy's players are STILL doing that stupid stuff.

Read my post a little closer. Never said their offense looked good. But those were two top 5 FCS defenses playing each other.

Last night some of the calls were just sad...I made the statement that we will just have to beat them down period.
