Man, you don't know what you are talking about. Everything in bama is greater than everything else in the world.

It is interesting (as usual) to see JSU posters backing away from Bell when one poster told Plowdog that Bell was the best coach in the SWAC and another said in the newspaper that they needed to keep Bell, but now refuses to say Bell's name. When JSU fired Hughes I told you that what comes next might be worse. But back to the topic of the thread.....

A&M and Bama State may not be the most hated, but it is the most intense...We don't feel any acrimony for them...We just have some fun at the big game, kick that tail and send them back south. End of story.

BTW, the Magic City Classic is the only rivalry game between HBCU schools that the mainstream media recognizes as one of the most intense games in college football in general.

"Dipping back into the depths of football greatness that is the state of Alabama, we honor an in-state, in-conference and in-division rivalry from the Yellowhammer State that is not Alabama vs. Auburn....

Alabama State Hornets and Alabama A&M Hornets have met 76 times since 1924 in a little grudge match commonly referred to as the Magic City Classic.

The two schools are natural regional rivals... and split the difference every year when they meet halfway in Birmingham’s Legion field for a very closely contested rivalry.

What makes this meeting meaningful, and therefore intense, is the fact that both teams are SWAC East members who have won nine of the 13 divisional titles.... When these two close neighbors meet, they’re more than likely deciding who will represent their division in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship.

It’s long-standing, it’s meaningful...[and] one of the most intense matchups in the game. Alabama A&M holds a paper thin advantage over Alabama State in the all-time series 37-36-3."
The Bleacher report? LOL!!!!!!! That's not main stream media. That's internet geeks sitting around reading other people's posts. You probably sent them an email with all that crap so they could post it in their article. That's what they do.

Being connected to both schools, at one time the AAMU-Skegee series was intense. Quite a few times one of the teams would have chance to win the SIAC going into the contest. In the late 80s, Tuskegee had at one point led the series in victories. When AAMU took on a full-1-AA schedule, the series was discontinued and it took a lot of luster out of the rivalry once play between the two schools resumed. It's one of the few games I've seen where so much trash could be talked, but at the end of the game, no matter who would win, everybody is drinking out of the same bottle and even partying together! LOL!

Fans from both schools partying together remind you of the most attended black college football game, the Magic City Classic.

IMO, I really think they should move the SWAC headquarters to a more centralized and popular location. Unlike the SEC, which has at least five conference schools east of Birmingham, there are only two schools in the SWAC that are east of Birmingham. Big corporations have always relocated their HQ to areas that can provide them the most economic impact. Other than probably some cheap rent of office space and free use of a stadium for the SCG, which is no longer played there, IMO, Birmingham has never had what it takes to provide the conference as a whole some true economical value.

I would say B'ham served the SWAC well and really enjoyed myself at several of the championship games. I too would centralize it though.
