2014 Jackson State Home Football Ticket Prices

Nope it's not based on supply and demand. Not sure what it is, and I guess it's working favorably for us. I don't know the exact numbers, so I can't speculate on that. BUT, I would take lower ticket prices w/ more butts in the seats anyday. If you can consistently put 35K in the stands each home game, then you can charge more for advertising and get more revenue in sponsorships AND generate more fan interest. But what do I know. Not bashing my dear ol' college home, but the logic sickens me as a Business major! :emlaugh:

With the amount of money gained with a higher price/lower attendance, I don't know if you could garner that much of an increase in sponsorships in a single year to cover the difference.

High prices or not, JSU will still have the first or second best home attendance. Any argument with that?

LOL That's like predicting JSU will wear Blue in their uniforms.... no other SWAC schools will challenge SU and JSU attendance anytime soon.

Well, you got Southern and JSU playing at Alcorn this year, Alcorn could come close.

No argument here but will they show up for the other games? They do have HC as well, but I still expect them to average around 17k when it is all said and done. That 1st home game will likely kill attendance. I hope we can get 15,000 for it. Homecoming will be always be packed. The other SWAC games will draw but can we keep them steady is the question.

I guess we will have to wait and see if the folks are still going to come. high prices like that, you will need to be winning consistently. You think folks are going to pay 60 to see a bad product for a SWAC game? I hope the games other than su and valley are well attended. I don't know why Valley is HC anyway.

People will be there. The hardcore JSU fan base is large enough to make sure attendance figures don't drop off drastically. My concern is bringing the community out. Make ticket prices affordable, and make Veterans Memorial the place for families to be on Saturdays. Bring the little kids in and plant that seed. Make them lifelong JSU fans.

As it stands now, those local kids' parents can't afford tix, so they stay at home and watch good quality SEC, Big 10 football. Not good! We need them in and around the stadium to experience the taligating, the fellowship, the bands, the Greek life. This is what HBCU football must sell. Then maybe revenue will go up and you can back into funding the football program, thereby increasing the quality of play on the field. Because it sure isn't there now. LOL
