I'd rather hear "If"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
This part would trip him up:
exactly why do we suppose to hate Sharp?
The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost said:I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
just reading how everybody is piling on, co-signing and high-fiving, and seem to be blaming Sharp for everything. But then again, that's usual.Who said you are suppose to "hate" Sharp?

bruh I don't think people are blaming him for "everything" but if you are the commissioner of a conference you are culpable for some of it.

You know, Louisiana used to have this governor, Governor Huey P. Long. Governor Long used to quote a lot of poems in his speeches when he really didn't have much to say. He feed so much poetic bullshyt to the people that the State of Louisiana damn near named every State facility after him, such as hospitals, bridges, and buildings. Maybe Alabama State University can name its brand new stadium after our commissioner, the Duer Sharp Memorial Stadium, which would have a nice ring to it.

We are not piling on, co-signing, and high fiving each other and blaming Duer for everything, but we are tired of seeing his poetry as a means of blowing smoke up our asses without any real answers.
Here's a piece of poetry for him:
"If you're not part of the solution then you're part of the problem"

Yeah, you seem to think Sharp has a helluva lot of power and influence. interestingHuh?If Duer Sharp said to do away with the 9 game mandate the Presidents would say ok..if Duer Sharpe said that every SWAC school was mandated to play an in state out of conference team the presidents would say ok...see where I'm going?
That's ridiculous and totally irrelevant to the discussion.

LOL @ quoting Invictus and If...
However, seems like Sharp needs to sample that Robert Frost "The Road Not Taken" and take the road less traveled.
you're from New Orleans, huh?TSharp is outchea
you're from New Orleans, huh?
My thing is Sharp is a mouthpiece, a front man. Can he do a better job? Yes, but hell, who among us can't do a better job at our job?
I don't see how being mad at Sharp gonna solve anything. Start your fight with your own President. Then maybe he or she will start a fight with the other Presidents.
LOL...outchea is South Louisiana MH, not just New Orleans...
The thing is, Sharp should wield more power and influence over the presidents/chancellors, especially with the turnover at school leadership level since he got to the SWAC office. However, it seems as though he either willingly is not using it or the commissioner's post has been so neutered by the presidents/chancellors that it need not exist any more.
It seems like the presidents/chancellors at other conference offices get the big picture, but the SWAC somehow hasn't since the 1970s.
The PAC12 uses a 9 game conference formula... The BIG10 is moving to a nine game, and has banned FCS opponents starting in '15 I think... And the SEC coaches have talked a 9 game formula... Maybe Duer is a "visionary"...
They have more than 10 teams.
