SU Should Start New Coaching Search Immediately


This is Sad.

the white poster tried to tell them last week but they didn't want to listen.

Maybe now they will listen since a SU poster started this thread. :noidea:

Yeah it is way too early and it is no need. He has a two year deal. So when he signed such a short deal, he put himself on the hot seat to have to produce. So it is no need for any of us SU fans to call for his head. Should we be pissed. Yes. Let's get through the rest of the season first.

JR, ain't enough time in the world to help make Worm a decent coach. When a new coach comes in, usually you see increments of improvement.
With Worm, I see su getting incrementally worse and once your QB graduates, you may not win a game next season.

Nah man. It ain't that bad. But it will be tough next year anyway with a new QB no matter who was coaching.

JR said some Baton Rouge folks were happy with the selection. Worm had the backing of the Q-back club as well as some other boosters. He had key supporters in the whole deal. The naysayers were mostly Jags who were on the outside looking in. Which is most of TSPN except a handful of us who are close to the program. Worm sold the SU Board, Selection committee, AD, and Chancellor with the backing of some key folks. If he had not, the AD would have been told to kick rocks and start over. Even Tony Clayton was sold. And that's your boy. LOL.

No he is not. You just don't like Will. Like you tell SOG to stop being hard on Doug because it is personal. Will is a good AD and he is doing a good job. The football coach hiring is always going to be political at SU and at most of our schools. One person is never going to just have free reign over it. So if Worm is a disaster, then it falls back on the committee, the AD, the SU Board, and the Chancellor. They all had their part. Will was not the search committee by himself. He did not overule people and say hey Worm is our guy like it or not. He was convinced along with the other folks. Again I can't wait until your VETERAN AD if she is still there has to make a football hire. We will see if SHE does utilize her extensive experience to hire a coach. Hell she didn't even do that for basketball, yall just hired my boy Brent because she was advised too. Don't act like politics don't play a role at JSU with your hiring practices. At least Will has some fresh new ideas and has been received very well by the business community and got money coming in to our athletic program without any controversy. You see what friends hiring friends did to your school with your AD hire.
 
JR, after saying all of that, Odums was still a pathetically poor hire. Keep putting lipstick on that pig though. Underneath it's still a pig.

Nobody is putting lipstick on a pig Jayrob. It is fact. After looking at the SU and FAMU list of candidates. Outside of Comegy, who applied to FAMU. It was the same usual suspects. That's why I can't wait until yall have a coaching search. Then we will see how great your AD is. She didn't have to do any work to hire Brent. That was an easy hire and it appeased the locals.

We gave Worm a 2 year deal. We are good over here. We are not locked in to him forever. You guys got more to worry about than us because Comegy ain't no spring chicken and there are not great HBCU coaches out there and yall just ain't had to go look yet. Just wait. You will have the same list.

This should be good. He said we should have waited as long as it took to hire somebody and not impose a deadline. So I assume he would have given Jenkins the world to come to SU if he was the AD.

Wait, since Comegy was looking for a job at FAMU during the same time. GR would have called him up if he was SU's AD.

Personal? How could this possibly be personal? I have no dogs in this fight. GR was just trying to stop yall from being so damn sorry.

And SUs problem is nobody is the blame. Nobody accepts responsibility for your stupidity and poor performance.

Nothing I have said has been wrong. Now if you want to keep telling me Im wrong, thats the true definition of denial.
