Fallout From SCG Moving

The SWAC should move it every few years. If JSU makes it to Houston, I will be there. We should hit all the major markets in our footprint on a rotating basis.

Houston has some positives but ya'll wanna be negative about it. I think it will draw some casual/neutral fans. Bham suffered because JSU-SU never got to meet up again. That game was created for a consistent JSU-SU matchup and we never got that again after the inaugural game. ..and the weather was always iffy. I recall in 2008, it was freezing out there. Without a doubt, Houston is the beat option for us at the moment.

but that doesn't apply in Houston, because everybody will be going to the SCG in Houston. So I advise everybody to get their tickets early, cause a SCG in Houston will surely sell out. just like the bball tournament has done since it left Bham. :retard: :scared:

 Logic doesnt apply to the SWAC Conference...everyone is more concerned about there being things to do than the actual attendance of the game! Truth is I would rather have the game in a city that will offer the conference and the game the world and a city who embraces the game. Rather than a city that has so much to do that makes the conference game an after thought!

I think attendance will not be effected by the casual fan in H-town, but by the fringe fan of the schools participating in the game. The fringe fan of the particular schools competing would be more geared up to take a trip to Houston than to B'ham......IMO.

That works for EVENTS because cities are going to support big events with sponsorship dollars. The SCG is not a big event so we need to sit in a city for a while and build a sponsorship base. I bet you the hardest thing about this move right now is soliciting support for an event that is only about 6 months away. You don't want to do that every year.

Texas schools got this don't they? :emlaugh:

The SCG has nothing to do with the Texas schools if they don't make it.........just as the Bama schools had nothing to do with if their school didn't make it. This is about two different cities......it has nothing to do with the schools.

I agree.
I think people get on here and just pop off. Right now, in June, right after this move was announced, EVERYBODY is going. Come December, it'll be a different story. True enough, while its new, it might post some decent numbers, but flash forward to 10 years down the line and this game will probably be the same as it was in Bham. If your school was involved in it, you go. If not, you aint going. That's not a knock against Houston. That wasn't a knock against Bham. That's real. But as I posted, folks "pop off" early on and they gonna be there, regardless if their school is there or not. And then.....

Well that is not what other folks have been posting. Personally I am just enjoying doing them like they have been doing Bama.

What does Texas Southern and Prairie View have to do with the Harris County Houston Sports Authority's ability to secure the championship game at Reliant Stadium? Absolutely nothing. Just like Alabama A&M and Alabama State had nothing to do with the game in Birmingham.

30K for an FCS game is pretty good. Damn good in Houston.

I meant to say 20K...

The SCG has never came close to that game!

Well no one said that when the game was in Bham. All you heard was ALSU and AAMU blame. We got 13 years of threads to prove it too. It was not TXSU folks, it was your bumpkin cousins in the woods of Texas really.

You would still complain if the game were in Jackson.

Get over yourself. You post as if you average 20K more than other schools. You don't.
And for the umpteenth time, the inaugural game was just that. We like new stuff. And the marketing for that game was unlike any other. Not only did they have radio ads for it here in Atl, I remember it was advertised on television too. And whether you like the bands or not, please don't act as if having all the bands there weren't a factor in the attendance numbers.
:retard:

Dog, if you talking about us.....we should have something to say about AAMU. In the 2009 SCG we outdrew yall azz 2 to 1....at least!!!!!

In the cold......in the rain!!!! Hell, my wife still gives me grief about having her with me in those elements....lol
