I think TSU is the only team that stands between us an a regular season title. I commend Coach Banks for getting those guys focused at halftime. Can't wait until the Jags come to Houston.

Don't sleep on PV, even though they got beat last night.

According to Yahoo, Alcorn is stomping Rimm's Panthers 51-35, SMH

We're a women's basketball school. Congrats Lady Panthers!

lol They put a nice whoopin' on PV men. I'm curious to know exactly what happened. I saw the atrocious shooting but what else occurred?

TSU and MVSU are not elgible for the tourney this year. There are only 7 others that stand between SU and the only thing that matters in this conference, the tournament championship.

PV is eligible and they still not going to win...by the way you misspelled that up there though I would point that out!

not true.... Justin had 18 points and 14 rebounds against Oakwood. He averaging 8 points and 7 boards a game this year. For Justin those are GREAT numbers.... especially with SWAC coming up, there aren't any good centers in the SWAC... haven't been in a long time. Tabb is 6'5 and will EASILY lead the SWAC in rebounding. He already averages 10 a game.

He had his best showing to me last night. The 18 point came mostly from dunks under the goal on a very small Oakwood team. He looked better last night to me but I doubt he will remain consistent. I will be pulling again him Friday night.

I know they can't go to the tournament. But are their regular season wins and losses not counted? If so, isnt that important for seeding of the teams that can play in the tournament? Plus SU wasn't eligible last year but we know that there was only one team better than us and they won it all.

I agree, but we will have a coaching advantage in that one  .

Lets not rub salt in the wound. :smh:

So PV is eligible you say and sTu is not, you say? Please excuse my Panther ignorance as to the correct spelling of the word "eligible" for you see, like others, we PVers doth not know what "eligibile" and "eligibility" issues are and thusly have not come to know how to correctly type the word during communication. But somehow, sTu'ers know that word from a loooooooooooooooong time ago because y'all seem to have numerous issues dealing w/ "the man" w/ that word in tow. Yearly. :smh:

Ouch. lol

But wait PV7, "sideliner" wasn't shooting < 55% from the charity stripe last night though; that's on the student-athletes. :smh: That's a lot of missed FTs. The FG% was just atrocious. Were they celebrating NYE still? lol

mostly all of his points are going to come off dunks... that's why he leads the conference in field goal percentage... he shooting 67% from the field.... and that's because of dunks. All I expect if 6 points and 6 rebounds out of him... anything more than that is great. He averaging 8 and 7 this year... so his confidence is coming..... He is like night and day improved over the last two years.

When was the last time Grambling made it to the NCAA tourney? I honestly and seriously don't remember.

That would be never... we got a 7 ft'er who doesn't avg 7 pts or 7 rebounds. This is a throw-away year...I'm sure Coach has some better talent sitting out than playing!

Dude is SOFT!!! He has nerve to dunk in practice....some of the high school dudes at GHS laughed at him!!!

I would not embarrass him nor the program... any 7 footer who couldn't give me a double-double would not be on my team. Not criticizing the kid, just being real.

Exactly. They are over there wondering why they gave Pimp Les an extension and basketball ain't in lSU folks vocabulary anymore. They are waiting for baseball and track seasons to start right now. LOL.

Both BR fan bases are optimistic about the future... both have good reason to be. Both made good hires! I like Gram's men hire... I'm hearing he kept the roster intact but has some transfers on campus sitting out.

I think we have been in NCAA D-1 now for about a quarter of a century. For Grambling, what a shame.

Big game tonight: Pre-season favorite PV visits The Bluff to take on the Running Gunning Jaguars of Southern University. Another loss by PV could put them in a 1st half hole after falling to Alcorn. Should be a good one and an early season gut check for PV.
