Obama thinking about supporting 'Gay Marriage' as a platform.

The good thing about it all is for you small minded people worried about who is getting married, the party of No, has something good in line for you and your kids. Don't worry it will be felt by your children kids too.
Cee it isn't about voting for the party of no, its about getting what we expect, voted for out of the party of 'yes we can.' Simple as that.

I fully support President Obama on his decision. Sometimes you just got to do the right thing and let the chips fall where they may. The Bottom line is that fair is fair. The initial knee jerk reaction in the black community was expected but since then cooler heads are prevailing and a lot of ministers in the Faith Community are openly voicing their support for Obama and his decision. In the Words of my cousin's pastor on last Sunday, "I'm not going to talk about Homosexuals when I have a bunch of hoes sitting in my choir stand every Sunday"

I think alot of my frustrations with Obama now is just out right jealousy. Jealousy of the G&L community. In this 1st term he's really stuck his neck out for them. Why not us? We stay losing man...smh. If we can't even gett the 1st black president to go to bat for us then we must be doing something wrong. How can we get what we need out of the President? Why can't we hold him accountable to us?

I am convinced the Democratic Party is convinced it will get the black vote NO MATTER WHAT. I have nothing against "gay marriage", but I find the Democratic Party's pandering to a small group of people who want special rights simply because of who they are sexually attractive to frustrating. I will not vote this fall. I can't do it. One thing you can say about the gay community is that they have leverage. Blacks do not have any leverage anymore.

economy messed up, school systems sucks yet yall worried about who the next person married to. It aint none of my business, so i dont care. Let them get married if they want to. Let them be miserable like all the "regular" married couples.

Dont vote for Obama because of this and watch the Rs send your kids to war with China or something and raise your taxes

Yeah, that's true. The Dems know black folks are not going to vote for anyone representing the GOP or any other parties.

Now, the same sex marriage stance would not keep me away from the voting booth come November.

I'm more concerned with the economy, the privatization of schools, jobs, civil liberties and the seemingly large gap between the rich and the working poor.

They want the same rights you that you enjoy should you get married. Take away all the legal rights sanctioned by the Gov't for straight couples and we wouldn't be having this debate.

.............President Obama stated his view that same-sex couples should be allowed to marry. This is a view that we concur with, because as civil rights leaders we cannot fight to gain rights for some and not for all. At the same time, we acknowledge that the President stated his personal opinion, which everyone is entitled to - both those who agree with him, like us, and those who disagree. The President made clear that his support is for civil marriage for same-sex couples, and he is fully committed to protecting the ability of religious institutions to make their own decisions about their own sacraments.........................
