Penn State/Sandusky/Paterno News

Re: Penn State/Sandusky/Paterno

Are you really this slow...no I blame the school....with 2 or 3 new storys a day he is suggesting that all conversations concerning Penn St be put in one Thread....come on man catch up!

He was responding to another thread that was merged....so chill out...

Re: Paterno Knows Everything

How the hell did Bradley NOT know when the man was run (or retired early) in 1994 for the same thing (allegedly)?

LOL @ Cee. Hell it goes beyond money. POWER! Like Barry Switzer said and he should know. LOL. You don't spend that many years on a coaching staff together and not know something about each other. Like he said, the whole staff knew. Not just Joe Pa. Everybody. Tom Bradley been on that staff for 33 years. But said he didn't know. We all know that is BS. Hell we knew what teachers were fugging other teachers in HS. LOL. You don't keep too much of that kind of stuff secret. Especially being around folks that long. You see or speculate on something.

Joe Pa was just like some of the old school Catholics (Not all Catholics, so C-Leb don't come get me. LOL). Just turned a blind eye like some did when those things about the Priests did come to light. He probably thought those poor kids were just as sick as Sandusky. You know how some old folks think strange like that. Plus these were at risk kids. Kids nobody was concerned about. Had this happened to one of the elite Penn State alums kid it would have taken cared of years ago. I am actually waiting for that bombshell to drop.

Re: Paterno Knows Everything

BINGO! It is all about the benjamins brothers and sisters. Penn State is liable because when this first happened Sandusky was an employee AND on their campus! Not only is Pateno's butt in a sling but so is the school. Get the right attorneys involved and Penn State will be as po' as joe's turkey.

Penn State had $73 million reasons to keep this on the hush.

Re: Paterno Knows Everything

From a PR standpoint, no institution is equipped to handle this worse case scenario-type deal going on at Penn State. Hell, Southern has had several PR black eyes in the Sandusky time period (band fight, band hazing, board shenanigans, etc.), and officials didn't proactively get ahead of the shat. Can you imagine an HBCU staff dealing with this nuclear situation. You think they close ranks for other stuff...sheeeeeeid.

But for Penn State, this is almost a death penalty scenario. The NCAA won't pass it down on them, hell just the very nature and depth of the Penn State scandal is a self-inflicted death penalty, or at least 5-years probation.

Every detail, no matter how small it might seem, is under the intense spotlight in State College, Pa.

Joe Paterno's recent real estate transaction, reported by Mark Viera and Pete Thamel of the New York Times, has led some to speculate he knew his world was going to come crumbling down around him at Penn State. The winningest coach in major college football history quietly transferred complete ownership of his house to his wife for $1 less than four months before the bombshell sex abuse scandal erupted.

Some legal experts believe the move was made to financially shield the Pennsylvania pigskin legend.

The Times uncovered documents that show Paterno, who had joint possession of the home, handed control of his residence over to his wife, Sue Paterno, for a dollar plus "love and affection."

JoePa's home was originally purchased for $58,000 in 1969; the home's fair-market value in 2011 was listed at $594,484.40.

Re: And Joe says he didn't know

Of course it was a move that was made to financially shield Paterno. Duh!!

More than likely Joe will be sued in Civil court and probably lose, which is why he's moving all his stuff around. I don't blame him.

Don’t bet on the NCAA stripping Joe Pa’s record

Grambling State and some historically black college athletic supporters who want all of Paterno’s 409 wins stricken from the record books are displaying irrational mental behavior.

Unfortunately, the cronies at the NCAA offices in Indianapolis won’t make such a bold declaration. Even though Joe Pa and Penn State utterly failed morally by placing football business ahead protecting vulnerable children from deviant sexual advances of a wayward assistant coach, those transgressions don’t equate what occurred on the gridiron, however.

Not reporting child rape to the authorities will not place in peril Paterno’s national titles, Big Ten championships or those 24 bowl wins he garnered over four decades. It doesn’t work that way. It hasn’t worked that way. There is no precedent for it. Let’s take a look back in history shall we.

Re: Don’t bet on the NCAA stripping Joe Pa’s record

Ol' dude who wrote the article could've and should've lol found the time and space to advocate what he/she is advocating others to do to "stifle child abuses," etc. :)

Our job is to seek justice and call for it 100% of the time, true enough. A precedence has already been set in stone, as far as I'm concerned. If the rules of the game were already set, why all of a sudden change them now? Cheating perhaps? Speaking w/ forked tongue, perhaps? "jo-pa" and all associated cronies surely deserve to be legally held accountable for alleged child rape(s). The icing on the cake, is the continual demoralization and demeaning through the public media, as others before them have endured. Those are the rules to the game. :)

I cannot deal w/ mentally inferior ppl too much. :smh:

Re: Don’t bet on the NCAA stripping Joe Pa’s record

Our energies should be directed toward starting Facebook pages stifling child rape and pedophilia instead of worrying about non-essential wins and losses in football games.

Otherwise, it places Robinson backers on the same level as sycophant Penn State fanatics who are creating a make-shift shrine out of Paterno’s on-campus estate.

Right on the money....

Re: Don’t bet on the NCAA stripping Joe Pa’s record

You folks are crazy to keep saying this has nothing to do with football. It does have everything to do with football. It started in the football locker room. Not the dorm rooms or library. I swear, to claim to be so educated, folks are really un-educated. They didn't cover this up for Jo Pa record, they did it so football and his legend would stay intact. The money this football program created was the reason it was covered up.

Folks tend to forget that players from the past had nothing to do with this incident. You can't equate what happens on a field and child molestation.

If this happened at A&M, what do you want the NCAA to do?

All that is true. However, Sandusky's/Penn State actions didn't directly affect the football program like recruiting violations, boosters paying student-athletes or point shaving. Go read about the Baylor basketball scandal. Dave Bliss was banned from coaching, but no wins were taking away from him and that case involved murder, drugs, illegal payments and possible extortion and obstruction of justice.

Did Bliss have 1st hand knowledge of the murder, extortions, et al and not report it kendrick?

Stop acting simple. I expect better. :|

After Bliss was exiled, it was revealed that he had told players to make up a story about Dennehy being a drug dealer in order to pay for his tuition. The tale was intended to serve as a cover-up for Bliss paying Dennehy’s tuition. The school imposed penalties on itself and the NCAA placed the basketball team on probation, and eliminated one season of non-conference play.
