Man Forced To Pay Support Despite DNA Evidence

I've seen cases where the man (especially a husband) didn't want a DNA test.
To some men, having a kid gives them a sense of accomplishment
and it can be too painful (especially for a husband) to find out the kid(s) are not his.

And I'll bet the guy in this story can tell you that $50,000 in back child support on top of what he has paid for a kid that was not his is painful also. Barely being able to feed, cloth, and house yourself because they snatching your paycheck for a kid you know is not yours hurt bad too. Bet being dragged out your home or off your job, possibly losing that job, to jail because of a kid that is not yours hurt even worse.

Sorry.........DNA Test please. :lecture:

I agree

imagine if all kids and whomever is listed as the father on the birth certificate were required to have DNA as a part of school registration

I thought after you get legally notfied, you only have a certain amount of time to protest paternity?
after that you're stuck, even if you find out different later? maybe the laws are changing?

claiming one man is the father when he's not should be a felony.

I don't know if this is an apples to oranges comparison, but if the courts can go back and clear suspected criminals of murder and rape using DNA (even when DNA testing wasn't around before the alleged crime was committed) why can't that same process be applied here?

I don't buy that excuse the judge is giving. It's B.S. So what this case doesn't fall along the proper time line. The evidence is the evidence.

FINALLY! A LAW THAT MAKES PERFECT SENSE!!!!

This law would shut EVERYBODY up. No more threats, doubts, guilt trips, or hell. Make the facts mandatory, and make them known from the jump.

Amen

The new law that allows them to use DNA evidence later in the child's life was not made retroactive by the Legislature.

I agree, this man shouldn't be going broke cause a woman lied to him. That's a very stupid ruling.

like I said in the past.
It don't matter who is paying, all Child Welfare/Support and Family court want is a man paying. They don't care how much proof you bring in after you sign on the dotted line and that includes proof the woman lied. They will snatch a mans money and laugh while doing it. Men these days are crazy, ESPECIALLY SINGLE MEN, if they don't get solid proof from day #1 before you put your name on a birth certificate.

bingo!!

I have no problem with mandatory DNA tests; that will nip everything in the bud right then. I have felt this way for a long time. This girl claimed that my brother had gotten her pregnant. They were both pretty young and my brother was all in love. My mom was helping to take care of this chick, getting her to dr's appointments, buying all this stuff for the baby, but she always said she wanted a paternity test. The baby was born and they were all trying to get my brother to sign the birth certificate, but my mom held her ground...turns out the baby wasn't his. My mom was relieved, my brother was heartbroken, and at last count this heffa had about 4 dudes tested and they weren't the daddy. If the paternity test is done upfront, a lot of this stuff can be eliminated.

my brother was heartbroken,

this why some men don't ask for a DNA test,
but when divorce is in the air
they may ask for one.

I've even seen dudes saying they were tryin' to
get a woman pregnant so she will have to deal
with them forever...sick?

Did I read where chad johnson was going
to a clinic to intentionally have twins?

I had a boyfriend who wanted me to have his baby before getting married. Not unheard of.

those guys sound like dumbasses. Were they yella?????

i sometimes think people with the least amnt of brain cells are the most potent

So if a guy was wrongfully held responsible to pay CS for a child that wasn't his, and DNA results reverse the decision after some years, will compensation be involved?

That's what I'm wondering. When a person is freed after being wrongfully convicted and jail, the state usually compensates them.

If a man is wrongfully forced by the state to pay, would he also be entitled to compensation? Somebody needs to sue the state to find out.

Hell NO!!
The sick part about this is the woman that lied in the first place can now go after the real father and snatch his money with no penalty. And yes, she keeping all money collected from the guy that was not the father.

I say again, a man is a dumbazz these days if they don't get test done before they start signing papers and paying child support.

Does the term adoption mean ANYTHING to them? Why go through baby momma drama just to have a baby? THere are ways to get a kid without wasn't time with Brenda.

That might stiill be around. I do know of guys stuck paying child support for a kid that was not theirs because they "Played" house with the mother for x number of years. Broke up with her and still had to pay support on thoes kids.

Peculiar thing... After reading this thread earlier today, I talked with my cowokrer about what he thought about it. He tells me his younger brother (mid 40s), went through a similiar situation. His high school girlfriend got pregnant, and there was a question (then) of whether the baby was his. But he claimed it, and raised it. Then when the daughter was in High School, the momma's old (other) boyfriend from high school came around, claiming the girl was his daughter. And a big mess ensued. The daughter, caught in the middle of all of this, wanted a paternity test. And David's (my coworker) brother didn't want to take it. But eventually he gave in.

The girl wasn't his......

And the daughter was so traumatized, she killed herself.. David's brother is now in prison in Oklahoma, convicted of attempted murder, when he tried to kill the old boyfriend (after the daughter killed herself). The old boyfriend was shot several times and is now paralyzed.

So nobody won, in this instance.

Be careful what you ask for......:what:

sounds like an excuse. yall so adament about child support and who paying and not paying then take the dna test and be done. Rich dudes dont have a problem asking for a prenup then u shouldnt have a problem asking for a dna test. Most of the cases the people were just fukking around, fukk buddies. if you get a girl pregant and yall just fukking and dont get a dna test then thats yo dumb ass

When I worked at Coca Cola, one the the guys who delivered our nitrogen was in this situation. He found out the boy wasn't his when the child was 15. He said he always suspected the child wasn't his. When I asked him why didn't he get a DNA test, his response:

"They too damn high"!

I've listened to a lot of other men complain about paying child support on children that weren't theirs and they all said that a DNA was too expensive for them to pay for.
