I Lied!!!!!!!!!!!

An Iraqi defector whose claims Saddam Hussein had biological weapons helped justify the 2003 invasion has said he lied to bring the ex-leader down.
In an interview for the UK's Guardian newspaper, Rafid Ahmed Alwan al-Janabi, codenamed Curveball, said he had to do something to bring democracy to Iraq.
He said Iraq had mobile biological weapons and clandestine factories.
His false evidence was used by the then US Secretary of State Colin Powell in a key speech to the UN in February 2003.
Mr Janabi told The Guardian he was "shocked" by Mr Powell's speech.

Rest story

Why some of you look at all this crap as DEM vs. REPUB?!?!

They BOTH do the same shyt.. but have different ways of doing it...

We were looking for any reason to go into Iraq and get Saddam Hussein, some people in power (whether its' the ones we saw on TV or the ones pulling the strings in the background) had an agenda and by any means necessary it was moving forward.

If you read the article the basically says that he admitted his statements were false before we even went to war with Iraq...but "folks" were determined to go to war regardless.

The BND (German secret service) later confronted Mr Janabi with a statement from his former boss at the Military Industries Commission, Bassil Latif, that there were no mobile weapons or factories.

He agreed with the statement, but the BND continued to take his claims seriously, he said.

He continued to have meetings with BND officials in 2002 and it became apparent to him a case for war was being constructed.

He was not asked about mobile weapons again until a month before Mr Powell's speech, he added.

After the speech, Mr Janabi said he called the BND and accused it of breaking an agreement that they would not share anything he had told them with another country.

He said he was told not to speak and placed in confinement for around 90 days.

BBC security correspondent Gordon Correra says that, whatever the truth of his motivations, his admission is deeply embarrassing for German, American and British intelligence agencies which all failed to understand for many years that he was lying

He also said this:

He said he was proud of what he had done.

"Maybe I was right, maybe I was not right," he said. "They gave me this chance.

"I had the chance to fabricate something to topple the regime. I and my sons are proud of that and we are proud that we were the reason to give Iraq the margin of democracy.

"I had to do something for my country, so I did this and I am satisfied because there is no dictator in Iraq any more."

he lied to the Germans about everything and the Germans told the US. The US took that info and ran with it. Again, why is he talking now? He did it. He started it with his lies. He got what he wanted............Saddam out.

Exactly!!!

Where did you come to this conclusion?

Don't both parties collect taxes?

Don't both parties want to American"ize" other nations?

Don't both parties "LIE" to the American people?

There are a few differences

But the differences on both parts are just as bad..

One wants blacks to forget about history and act like everything is equal

The Other wants to keep black dependant on them...

Those 2 difference in itself is how the CONTROL us all....

If one party is yelling... "Black people grow the hell up"

Alot of white love that....

the other yelling.."Blacks and other poor folk.... you can have all the government assistance you want if you remain loyal to us"

Alot of blacks love that.

Fug all the other "political" issues.. these are the main 2 that keep the people seperate in this country...
And as long as the people are seperate the government can and will do what the fugg they want BOTH sides...

BUT! If they people were to actually GROW the hell up and come together, the government wouldn't be pisses us off and doing right by the people....

CAN both of the parties and the people need to find truth and get this shyt togehter...

Every election we hear "CHANGE"...
But we do the SAME shyt every time....

What did they say about expecting a different result from doing the same thing over and over?

"Insanity"

Did you read the article before coming to conclusions?

It doesn't look like it at all.

I was shocked (and thought what the Iraqi did was ingenious) that people can manipulate others into doing what they want done.
He told them what they and we wanted to hear, and we went head first into it. Because we wanted to.

I did read the article...

Like a few others in here stated. I been knew we lied to get Saddam out of power. That wasn't news to me..

I was just stating many folk on here get excited when they can point the finger and say... "See I told yall about the Republicans"...

I'm just just saying it happens on both sides of the aisle.....

How did any of your claims apply to THIS thread at the time of your comment?

Anticipation...

My anticipating it stopped it from happening seems like "knock on wood"... I'm glad for that, cause I get tired of seeing it..

Wow, I think they should have had a second opinion, you would think so being that usually have to check sources. The U.S. owes Iraq a DEEP apology and some serious restitution and Saddam would still be alive, not that this is a good thing, and we wouldn't have been in a costly war.

So you think that you got that much pull to stop someone from saying something on here? If you're tired of seeing it, then don't look.

The lie led to over 100K Iraqi civilians losing their lives. I have tried for years to figure out why we would invade a country which was not a threat to us. The only thing I can come up with was it was a political decision. Bush thought he was carrying out the will of the people. Most Americans wanted revenge for 9/11. Oil was not the reason. The fields were producing more oil before the invasion than they are doing now.
