What's the 411 on the Motorla Droid. I was told that it's the phone I want, but need a 2nd opinion before I decide.

I got it Monday.....

easily best phone Ive ever had.... and I was the one who said I would NEVER leave Blackberry.

Theres not a phone in the industry right now that can compete with a Droid.... google put they foot in this phone....

The thing I like about it is everything runs through your gmail email account. Whereas with Blackberrys you have to sync contacts and calendars. All I have to do is go to gmail contacts and add a contact on my computer and it automatically goes to phone... or go to google calendar on my computer and put in the information for my calendar and it automatically shows up on my phone.

its the only phone with google maps spoken navigation which comes standard on the phone..... you push a button... say where you want to go (pizza place in Huntsville, a specific address, restaurant, etc) and it will start the navigation.... once you get about a mile away from your destination, the phone changes to Google Street View, so you can see a picture of your actual location just like google street view on your computer....

its just a nice phone... now I will say I dont like the way it LOOKS... and thats what almost stopped me from buying it... but we had a 5 hour training on it last week and everybody in the class ended up buying the phone after the demo.

here is a demo of the google maps with voice..

I have Tmobile as well and just got the MyTouch a month ago. Easily the best phone I have had. It is a Droid phone too. HTC is on the move with these type of phones. Should be interesting as the other carriers are getting in on these Droid phones.

Also I see Tmobile is starting to update their phone selections a little faster than in the past. I guess they got the hint. The service is great though. Can't complain.

Yea, HTC phones are pretty good phones. I had one before I got my iphone! I still have it as my backup phone.
I was robbed in June and phone was stolen... I used my HTC until i got my iPhone back.

Cellular South (of all carriers) has a Droid Phone. (when they picked up a droid phone, thats when I started questioning how great the DROID was) b/c Cellular South always have Garbage PHONES! They're like 6yrs behind... smh
Not to mention they're prob going to price that droid at 700 bucks :shame:
They be getting over on folks! lol

Not a smart move. They just shot themselves in the foot...

If Apple decides to let Verizon get the iPhone, they would be looking even foolish after watching them bash their product...:retard:

I've also heard that Verizon is getting the iPhone, somewhere around Q3 2010. I have a Verizon blackberry for work, and an iPhone with AT&T, and from my experience, Verizon's network has been more dependable. Apple would be limiting themselves in the USA with the iPhone if they didn't open the iPhone up to other carriers besides AT&T. Things aren't too cool with Apple and AT&T anyway. It was obvious when there was a delay on the MMS rollout with AT&T. When Apple made the announcement about MMS support, many carriers around the world had full support for it right away, but AT&T didn't. It only makes sense that Apple would want to add a customer base as large as Verizon's to their sales.

iphone...:D

I hate any type sliding phone. They never hold up. To many moving parts. Everybody I see with these type phones have issues. it makes the phone look cheap over time.

Apple would be a two bit prostitute if it did that. Verzion punks the phone all over the media with those ads, and apple still decides to sell its product to them....oh hell no, its too many world wide contrats out there that they could tap into, too many smaller markets they could tap into in the states...I'd leave verizion high and dry for effen with me.

It would be in Apple's best interest to let Verizon get that phone before they keep adding Android based phones and punk both AT&T and Apple out of the market. The Droid is already obsoleted by the phones coming down the pipe. Apple knows this.

If Verizon gets the iPhone, I might have to get that!!! I'm already probably going to switch to Verizon next year and get that Droid.
