I will let you continue to be ignorant lol! I advise you to go on some band websites lol! They tell you what they feel about JSU and non think JSU is sh!t on the field lol! That's coming from JSU peeps lol!
I'm trying to be nice but, since you keep insisting.I don't get that impression from these boards...lol
Again, people dog JSU out becasue we could do better and they EXPECT better (and people simply hate on JSU) but people have grown to expect mediocrity from Grambling. You ain't NEVA been mentioned in a drilling topic. NEVA.
Also, FEWER people have seen GSU in 2007 and 2008 than saw them ALL Of those slaw years so you can hang up the argument that everyone knows. If anything, people expected u to suck and just by-pass your clips.
TP you are so clueless and stuck in time! JSU has fallen off the chart in drilling and arrangements! While Grambling is getting better, JSU is still living off the past, you would think JSU folks thought Dowell Taylor was still there, but it seems you all are stuck in a time! Now Bama State, Valley, Alcorn and A&M need to step it back up, the SWAC will be solid from top to bottom!
I'm trying to be nice but, since you keep insisting.

Read some of the comments sometimes. You seem like a mature and opened minded person.
I don't know why I bother. I know you seen these already and that I might see them again next year JSU!
OK,....this concludes my conversation with you because you really don't know nothing about marching bands. You don't know what clean water looks and taste like when you have been use to drinking water that's dirty. You like who you like. That's your business. Opinions from those like you will never be a factor to me.Ok....my opinion stays the same. A&T makes straighter lines than JSU but their drills are simple. Make a line and stand in place.....Grambling ain't much better. The BOOMs drill is steady and they don't stand in place during half the drill. Grambling only makes a line a walks for about ten yards....makes another line and walks for about 5 yards and then stand still. That shit is just simple. Sorry but I ain't impressed by simple drills.
Legend's point about JSU playing the tune after hearing GSU play is probably valid.
Not true! JSU hasn't had a decent arrangement since Dowell Taylor left!
I hear some accents in your version that is not in the original song but we put that syncopation in ours!!!!
All I can say is,....I'm flattered!!!
Complexity and JSU shouldn't even be in the same sentence! Dowell Taylor has been long gone bruh! Just face the facts!LMAO:lol:

It's good you are still trying to validate! Good to see peeps like dacontinent, at least he is real and know what he speaks about!
So just because someone agrees with ya'll, they right... lol Trust me, no one dogs out the BOOM like JSU alums (including me) but that does not change the fact that the BOOM is better than Grambling on our WORST day. Heck, no one dogs out our coaching staff, ect... more than us too but uuuum, we were STILL better than 90% of the SWAC last year. Ya dig!
:wavey: Hey Big Brother :tup:The tangents that these threads take always amazes me. Let's see if we can get back to the point.
I don't know or care who started playing what in '07. Legend35's arrangement for GSU is very different from the one in the JSU clip. Legend knows why I know they are different. :swink: Legend's point about JSU playing the tune after hearing GSU play is probably valid.
SIVAD had an arrangement of the tune in the JSU library when I got to Jackson in the Fall of '79. It was much more of an R&B groove than either of the two arrangements noted in the original post that started this thread. I don't think SIVAD's arrangement has ever been heard publicly.
There are things I like about both arrangements, but I think GSU played theirs better between the two clips provided. I, too, dispise it when trumpet players try to scream and end up hanging over cutoffs.
yall are usually better than 90% every year....We all know SU is never in that 90%....
:wavey: Hey Big Brother
TP,....you must have a lot of time on your hands. The legend has nothing to prove to you. At the end of the day, it don't take long for me to take into consideration,...you never served a day in uniform. You don't know how much work goes into making something difficult look easy. You don't know a whole note from a flatted fifth. You don't know what 221/2 inches means or the term review. So really,...why bother????
THE END OF SPEAKING!!!
~Getting back to my Sinatra~
You just don't know.If you sked, say u sked.
U have no idea of my band/musical background but at least you accept the fact that you have been crushed by TP. Welcome to the club. That white flag fits you. Glad you had it on standby.
You just don't know.
I'm bigger than this!!!!
some of ya'll are the biggest dumb arses ever in life...first of all y would we want to steal anything from that garbage azz band from *ram in the first place:vomit:....second, how is it that a song that has been out so long and no one has ever played it?! so that means that *ram "stole" it from them too right?!....third, this song has been in our library for a minute, i know i remember seeing it in our library my freshman year in 04(which is before the year *ram played it) so that means some previous JSU bands have played it also....fourth, why does it fuggin matter who played what first cause we ALL have played a song after another band has played it:idea::lecture: so STFU and stop :whine:!...:shame:
