That was those folks over in Jersey Village that did that and they killed their own athletic program by not keeping some of those areas, they wanted to be secluded with just their folks and now they are going to stay on the losing side of things. Cy-Ridge & Cy-Falls capitilized on it by taking those kids and look what they have been doing. Cy-Lakes just got the kids from Cy-Springs and split the talent. Our school (Cy-Woods) got talent from CyFair & Cy-Falls but will lose some to Cy-Ranch. We will be alright in the long run since we shouldn't have to split anymore talent. The next new high school will be south of 290 and west of Fry on FM 529 and will take from Cy-Springs, Cy-Lakes & Cy-Ranch which will be in 2011 or 2012.

Actually, she is the assistant coach for here former high school coach at UTA. Samatha Morrow was the head coach for Mansfield during those years and she took the head coaching job at UTA and went and talked Erin Grant into leaving the pros and being her assistant at UTA.

Erin is young. She really fits the profile of a college assistant coach. She can do more things being Erin at UTA than she could being in MISD as a head coach.

Thanks. This is really a girls basketball Mecca. We had to beat the state's #2 4A team, which is Arlington Seguin that is less than 2 miles from Timberview. Seguin's two top players transfered from Timberview, yet still live in the Timberview zone.

Erin Grant is just realizing the legacy she left on this girls basketball community. Back in 1998, when she played in our mens church league at Mt. Olive, I had no idea that this lil girl was going to be this good.

When you think of Mansfield basketball, you think of Erin.

For all intent and purposes, Erin is the "new" face of ladies bball here in Texas immediately after Sheryl Swoopes. I didn't realize Arl Seguin was that close to TimberV. :what: That area is a recruiters DREAM for ladies bball. :read: 3 powerhouse programmes all w/in what... a 10-15 mile radius of each other, right? Wow.
 
I was watching an interview last night with B. Griner on the local news. She sounds like a 15 year old boy.

Oh, I forgot they are playing your people. The team CyFair just beat by 3 (Dallas Skyline), well Summit beat them by 14 earlier this year. That tradition of Summit will carry them over the hump.

Well this is their 3rd straight trip to state for this team and they won it last year with a senior laiden team. This year's team only return a few players from last year and is basically a new team. We'll see how they do this weekend trying to repeat as champs.

Summit really took care of CyFair without any problems. Summit was up 29-12 at the half and CyFair made a run of it in the 3rd, but in the 4th Summit pushed the lead back up and won by 13.
 



Now Brittney Griner posted 44 points, 18 rebounds, 10 blocks, 1 monster dunk, and almost 10 assist as Nimitz destroyed Pflugerville 76-45.

They actually started the game LATER so that the fans who where in line to buy the tickets could see the entire game. About 8500 was at that game. This kid is remarkable.

Only 1 girl from CyFair showed up to play and she scored 30 of the teams 39 points. She was the only experienced player from last year, they made a good run. She'll be a senior next season and will carry the team again back to state. Now lets see if Manfield can handle Griner from Nimitz.

Watch your back w/ Waco Midway. They destroyed my boy's team (Kelly Savoy of Willis) w/ ease and Kelly's squad ran roughshod through our district back @ the crib.

Good luck to Timberview! Your daughter gets a state patch and she's only a soph! :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap: She's got D-I written all over her future. We just have to remind her later that she's a girl so that she doesn't get all "girly" on us. :read: (notice, I said "us." :read: lol)
 
Waco Midway beat us pretty good, 50-27. We were 11-63 from the field.

Mansfield Summit beat Nimitz!

Mansfield girls basketball is second to none!

That won't be an issue. I picked her up from the school this morning and the first thing out of her mouth was, "When's my makeover? You PROMISED me I could get a makeover! When we goin'?" :retard: :lmao:

They didn't have an answer for Cokie. Hell, they didn't have an answer for that teeny tiny one who's going to Texas Southern. Well, they DID have an answer ... let me just STFU now. :lol:

I don't know what Summit did, but they did it, and I'm extra proud of them, too!

The kid was double team and tripled team all night long and still dropped 24 points. The first game she dropped 44 points.

She broke a UIL record for scoring in the state championship tournament, 68 points in two games in the states biggest division.

Oh, 16K dropped by to see her play too. Can you say she changed the game?
 
all that and she still NEVER won a state championship. She wont have half the accolades that Candace Parker had.
