Yall know my daughter plays basketball. Well, her team (Mansfield Timberview) finished the regular season ranked the #1 4A team in the state, Texas Rankings, #9 in the Southwest Region, ESPN Rankings and was ranked in the top 50 in the nation twice this year.

One of the nation's top 100 sophomore basketball players.

Michael Ensley at Dallas Lincoln will happily take her in.....the opportunity to represent South dallas is appealing to young girls across the metroplex :emlaugh:

30 mile drive from the suburbs of Mansfield to the HOOD of South Dallas. Basketball ain't that important. Although Ensley has a good squad over there.

Yep. She's already @ a powerhouse so it's all mute anyway. Mansf Timb is not a joke. :|

I'm not surprised to see her ranked among the top 100 sophs. You and Nita put a lot of effort into her and it's showing (paying off). I can't wait to see what transpires after the playoff run (lifting more weights, getting bigger, stronger, faster, etc...).

I think Pat Summit will come calling. I can feel it. :read:

And as you monitor your daugher's progress in the girls playoff bracket, I am anxiously awaiting for the UIL Boys bracket to be released. My nephew will start his playoff run for Denton-Ryan next week.

My nephew - Colby Jones

Ryan notebook: Jones has blossomed as leader for surging Raiders

Jones’ best has emerged in district play, where the Raiders are currently riding an eight-game winning streak. The senior is scoring 14.5 points per game in district, up from his season average of 13.7.

He’s averaging 8.4 rebounds per game in district, up from his season average of 6.8.

Both totals lead the team.

Lincoln has an Arts Magnet, so that allows them to get kids from anywhere.

I know...our starting point guard now is from Cedar Hill and went there, Tiffany Jackson was from Duncanville and they had another star who came from the other end of the county

Congrats........

Our girls team bowed out of the playoffs tues, losing to Georgetown and ending their season 22-11. This was just their 2nd varsity season, good things to happen down the line.

Our boys will start their playoff run next week, they are waiting for their opponent to be named. They won the district with a 13-1 record and finished the season 30-3.

Is this a CyFair Team?

No don't listen to Yolanda, we have a future Hall of Famer that will get her info.

Yes, Cypress Woods......it's our 2nd year in all varsity sports with the exception of football which was our first this past season.

That area is very similar to the Mansfield area in which new schools are opening and being very competitive early.

Yeah and we just lost half of our freshman and sophmore classes due to 2 new schools opening this year.

Many don't understand that districts ATTRACT more athletes when they open more schools. Places like Southlake, Duncanville, Cedar Hill and Desoto actually lose many athletes because there simply are not enough jerseys top outfit the talent.

I bet when you look at the ENTIRE CYPRESS RIDGE/FALLS area, you will see that there are MANY district and state championships.

The greater Dallas area has some very serious problems when it comes to cheating, being "right," sincere, etc about educating kids. :smh:

Pitiful.

Wonder where the principal who resigned graduated from Grambling. :emlaugh:

I look at it from a recruiting standpoint...alot of schools still recruit the city districts first for whatever reason as at times, the growth of schools cause kids to get caught up in numbers games....

Our soccer coach at Grambling does a great job at recruiting as she knows about Cypress Pink, Mansfield Orange, etc. but for football coaches, alot of them stick to traditional areas first and then branch out....the best offer a cy-woods kid had was arizona I think

and Cy-Fair ISD is kinda biased with the way they drew the lines....Cy-Ridge has damn near all the areas with the talent as they get carverdale off of gessner all the way to areas beyond jersey village.....they will never suffer...one of the new schools, cy-lakes is 80 percent minority already as they gave them all the minority areas off of 529

If I get a 6-10 star in my household...come on to WIllowridge, Yates, etc....sell out the place and your a local legend like TJ Ford...:emlaugh:
