why Valley? they had the 1 seed the past 2 seasons only to lose to a West team....Valley built a team that doesn't favor SWAC play.....speed isn't their best friend.

speed is a constant, even when u can't hit homeruns. U can always bunt. Stealing bases puts pressure on the defense and the pitcher. It's called manufacturing runs. Everybody doesn't just sit back and wait for the 3-run homer.

P.S. Yeah Zach is from California.

I dont know what MVSU team you are watching but MVSU doesnt bunt like that no where near that. If you are goin to say a small ball team you have to say PV or JSU they steal and bunt a whole lot more then MVSU.

By the way how can you be the best team in second place JSU won the division.

Why don't you answer the question and stop trying to give yourself wiggle room to say "that's not what I meant". That's "WEAK" I said that "Bruce would be lucky if he got drafted at all" when they were running his heisman candidacy. Now thats strong.

What happened NT? Give us the skinny mane?

Smack here: Told'jall not to fire Roy. ;)

It wasn't a "turn in" deal.... The kid was CLEARED to play by the SWAC.... Then they came back and reversed it... That's horrible. Plain and simple. and it's one thing to reverse the decision and say "he can't play anymore"... but to try to make us forfiet games that he was CLEARED TO PLAY...???? rediculous.

I will be in Jackson, MS

Baseball Hardship Reversal Changes SWAC East Standings
Mississippi Valley State Gains East Title

The reversal of a medical hardship ruling for a Jackson State baseball
player has resulted in a re-ordering of the standings for Southwestern
Athletic Conference East Division baseball race.

Based on information submitted by the institution to the Southwestern
Athletic Conference office, a Jackson State player was granted a medical
hardship waiver based on his playing in less than twenty percent of his
team's games last season (2005) due to an injury. He participated in four
(4) conference games this season, two against Mississippi Valley State and
two against Alabama State.

Upon subsequent review of the player's status, the Southwestern Athletic
Conference has determined that the player was not eligible to play this
season and the conference games in which he participated (4) must be
forfeited.

"When we granted the (Jackson State) waiver, we notified the institution
that the ruling could be reversed if subsequent information did not support
the ruling." said SWAC Commissioner Robert Vowels. "The game forfeitures
pertain to SWAC records and seedings only and will not be reflected in the
teams' won-loss records for the NCAA."

The Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament takes the top three teams
from each division. Prior to the ruling, Jackson State was the leader in the
SWAC East division with an 18-5 record, followed by Mississippi Valley
State's 18-6 record. Alcorn State was third with a 13-9 record.

For seeding purposes to the Southwestern Athletic Conference Baseball
Tournament, May 18-21, Mississippi Valley State captures the East title with
a 20-4 record, Jackson State's record changes to 14-9 with Alcorn State
standing at 13-9. Jackson State and Alcorn State are scheduled to play this
weekend (May 6-7) to determine the second and third place seeds in the SWAC
Tournament.

The SWAC West division race has been settled with Prairie View A&M
prevailing as the champion, followed by Southern in second and Texas
Southern in third.

The SWAC Baseball Tournament will be played May 18-21, 2006 at Trustmark
Park in Pearl, Mississippi.
