and A & M wasn't even the highest rated team in the conference according to the RPI. And again, the issue is not the play-in game, it's a matter of our teams getting better so we avoid the play-in game.

Damn an RPI.... that means that another SWAC team had a better schedule than us.... Of course our RPI wasnt going to be high we played two D2 schools (Tuskegee and Stillman) We won every SWAC tournament game by double digits, so i could care less about an RPI.

I agree that AAMU should have been in the Play-in game because they were the best team in the SWAC but still AAMU displayed on ESPN why the SWAC is not the force in basketball it once was.

When has the SWAC ever been a force in basketball.... winning once game in the NCAA tournament doesnt make you a force. Times are different now.... the AAU game isnt letting any talent slip through the cracks anymore... AAU wasnt always as large as it is now... HBCU's were getting kids who slipped through cracks. AAU makes sure every player is seen now. If we get a good post man in this league... its because the majors have backed off of him because of grades. Sad but true.

Actually, getting into the play-in game should be considered an honor. The play-in game gets more respect than the first round of the NIT. We all know that the first round of the NIT still has some of the elite teams in there (Michigan, Muzzu, etc.) and yet Oakland and AAMU gets more air play.

I wish that we could get the SWAC to the point where we could get a NCAA bid and a NIT bid. I think that we might actually have a legit at upsetting some NIT teams.

I am no fan of the play-in game, but the play in game has been made attractive by perks. The perks that a team playing in the play-in game exceed the reason for establishing it in the first place. It was easy to take one of the two seeds that went to the MEAC and SWAC which have us competeing against each other rather than having the 65th team compete against the other seeds. But here is what was established to give the play-in game justification that makes it impossible to complain about it even those we lost a seed to get one more PWC in the big dance. In the history of the big dance no 16 seed team has ever beaten a #1 seed. Therefore the rules makers know what they are doing and justify the play-in game with RPI ratings.

Here are the Perks
1. Opening round of the NCAA Tournaments
2. Send a Charter Jet to pick you up
3. Pay all expenses for two days
4. A pay out of $150,000 to $200,000 up top of expenses.
5. TV Time which gives a small program air time that will help with recruiting.

Therefore the game will continue.

By winning the SWAC and The Tournament we had a very good year and we are proud to be a member of the SWAC. Maybe we did play poorly, but we accomplished some positive things this season. So look on the bright side of things; we can now boast about a SWAC Championship, but we don't have twenty because we have not been around as long as most of the old members. We are Bama North and looking toward our future.

We may not have been a force but a few years ago, we were not this bad.

The SWAC may have not been a force but the fact of the matter is that some of the biggest upsets in Tournament history came from the SWAC. Now the cupcakes are upsetting us as we Saw Tues on ESPN.

Since I was at the game. Oakland is no cupcake. There were some other things going on that you will never see on TV.

Oakland was cupcake. A&M just made them look good. One post man with manly shoulders would have made a difference in that game. The white/black boy was having his way with your jr high developed players.

That damn 7 foot white boy on JSU team is the WORST player in the SWAC... a waist of scholarship and uniform.

Get it straight. We're talking about that horrible mess of an excuse that somebody called a basketball team getting drilled by Hammer's squad. This was worst than anything the SWAC had shown lately. And then you had YT laughing at you. Laughing at you..........on National TV. I dont think you are even deserving of being called Annie Mae, because she at least fought back.

who was on national tv last friday gettin laughed at? did A&M and JSU play on national TV? did JSU fight back .....

AAMU,

We are not really down on ya'll but the fact that our champ can't win a play in game....worst yet, get blown out in a play-in game. What JSU or any other team does not matter ....becasue yes, we all suck.....we we were not champions and we did not get whooped by a play-in team. Former SWAC Champions would have blown Oakland out.

IMO, if there just have to be a play-in game, it should be between the two bottom seeded at-large teams, having to play their way in to the tournament. Conference winners shouldn't be subjected to this.

Conference winners should be subjected to play-in games if they don't have a winning record and their RPI's are not high. Didn't any SWAC school have a winning record. As it has been stated before "we just need to get better and then we don't have to worry about playing in a play-in game."

could would shoulda ...WHY werent yall the SWAC champions this year? can you speak on that

Don't worry, you won't be SWAC champions next year. And yeah, I can speak on it...we are not SWAC Champs because we were sorry...just like AAMU.
