A high quality camera is relatively inexpensive. Cell phones can produce 4K videos. I don't think it would cost more than a couple thousand bucks to hire 1-2 people to make football content. You don't need no big ass TV camera to make great videos today.
You don't shoot football with a cell phone, no matter how good it is. The cheapest professional-level camcorder that shoots in 4K is right now about $1,250. Hell, I got three in my office and they were like $3K each when we bought them. You're not figuring in lavalier mics, wireless mics and other accessories you need out there.
It actually costs a lot more than a couple thousand bucks to produce football content. Think about all of the B-roll they have to shoot before getting it down to a format. Most of your money would be tied up in shooting video and editing/post-production (time to edit/proper software and computer equipment). That's even before it's released. Then you're talking about frequency of dropping new content.
You're right. It doesn't take "big ass TV cameras" to make great videos. However, there are costs involved in having a team to shoot football. I'm not saying it can't be done. It's just a bit more involved than at first glance.
Maybe better athletes and coaches would want to come to the HBCUs if they saw better HBCU sports content on the Internet. I bet I can good FCS PWI football content on the Internet.
Currently over 2 million views. This actually goes with what Kenn said about as long as you are getting exposure, it doesn't matter who put the video online (however imagine if all these views were on the Juke's channel)
662. I understand your point and it is valid. The Jukes do VERY well with their own channel. However, the other YouTube channels serve as distributors that ultimately assist in providing additional exposure to the Jukes. If it means the VJs get a few $$$$ for highlighting the Jukes, it should be considered a win/win for everyone.
It's similar to athletic conferences like the SEC, Big Ten, ACC, or Pac-12, who all have their own TV networks, but yet still have agreements in place with other networks to help distribute the products of their conference members. The more eyeballs the product gets, the better...especially if there is a demand for the product.
Oh, you're saying that he got hit with the claim. Ahh...I see.You are right about that. The person who filmed it doesn't have any affiliation with Valley so it wasn't on us that he got hit with that claim. The other videos featuring the SWAC schools didn't have that issue
Google is your friend lol.Where is SU football content on the Internet?
Funny thing, Edge, who is over The Juke media team made this a couple of years ago.Exactly.
If I'm not mistaken they usually (or used to) get permission via ASCAP or BMI.Well, from my understanding, the bands are required to get clearance/pay for the right to perform these songs. They can't simply just arrange and perform any given song on a dime without clearance. So if some reason folks are getting slapped with copyright claims, that's pretty much on the band directors for not taking care of business.

That's what I thought.
You're only interested in criticizing and degrading Black people.
Just go away, man. Your schtick is tired, lame, and unhelpful. We've heard it all before. You're doing nothing that helps anyone. Black people, white people, or yourself. Your actions just show that you're a miserable, small man - whether you're Black or white. Being negative, dismissive, and critical of Black people does nothing to change the realities of the situation. And will never dishearten those who spend their lives uplifting, supporting, and striving to improve themselves, the community, and our institutions.
I would tell you to go kill yourself, but that would be too kind. So, I won’t do that....
Have you looked?From 2016?
Have you looked?
It’s there’s lolI looked for highlights from the Langston v SU game that took place on this past Saturday and it wasn't there. How about that?! Why would I go looking for something much older when the most recent football game highlights aren't on YouTube?
Where are these 1million viewed band vids at. So I can see who’s getting paid off our bands. I don’t see any on YouTube.
But to touch on the topic, it would be nice to see every swac program have a sports media team as dedicated as the bands (Boom, Jukes, Ocean) media teams. These guys produce some good coverage and have the best quality/angles in the swac. The only other band that produce that level of quality (that I’ve seen) is THE AGGIES from A&T. Their footage is top notch as well. I could be missing a few. Not sure if Bethune has a team for their band. I don’t watch them.
Ive never had a problem with footage/highlights of JSU football & I’ve never complained about the quality but now that I’m thinking about it. Lol the Boom’s footage is higher quality.

OK, this is how stuff gets out of hand. There is no need for the name calling. Just make your point. You're an idiot.
@Kamala , this is the part of the thread where you simply say, "Thanks for sharing this. I stand corrected."
