Dillard is the lone NOLA school left; SUNO shut down athletics and Xavier to RRAC. Loyola moved leagues a decade or so ago.

Any idea on potential new members for GCAC?

NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana announced Tuesday that it will join the NAIA's Red River Athletic Conference as a full-time member, effective July 1, 2021.
XULA was unanimously approved in August by RRAC member institutions to become the league's 13th member.
The move to the Red River will end XULA's 40-year affiliation with the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference, of which it was a charter member in 1981. XULA teams will compete for GCAC championships in at least seven sports in 2020-21.

With LSUS and LSUA in this conference, the competition has gotten a lot tougher for XULA. Would Dillard University consider the same move???

Is LSUA a 4-year school?

LSUA has been a 4-year institution since 2003. LSUA has reached the finals twice in the NAIA basketball tournament. I believe the last time they were there, they lost by 2 points. They are 6 - 0 against XULA.

Also, the RRAC's hosts several its tournaments in Alexandria, LA, such as their basketball tournament played in the Rapides Parish Coliseum.

They do. The Coliseum was redone about what? 5 years ago or something?

Yep not long ago. If Alexandria had a few downtown casinos off the Red River like Lake Charles and Shreveport, it would be the hotspot for conventions and tournaments in-state, but those bible toting Baptists in Pineville made sure that won't happen. But that might change in the future since Pineville is no longer a dry city.

Xavier gets best of both worlds; upgraded conference schedule and can still play solid NAIA competition in the city (Dillard and Loyola) as well as the region against former GCAC opponents.

I don’t know if Dillard makes a move and their sport sponsorship doesn’t compare to XULA which has BSB and SB along with tennis. XULA could be a very attractive D2 but not sure they want to but would be an interesting non football SWAC too conceivably in 10-15 years if they go D2 now
