Ridiculous! :shame:

BATON ROUGE -- Senior guard Michael Harvey scored a season-high 20 points Monday to lead NAIA No. 9 Xavier University of Louisiana to a 72-58 men's basketball victory over Southern University.
The Gold Rush are 12-0 for the first time since 1983-84 and the second time since World War II. Xavier scored its first regular-season victory against an NCAA Division I opponent since a 76-71 decision at Southern on Nov. 13, 2000.
Harvey scored 10 points in each half and matched his career high of four 3-pointers made.

XULA has gone out and built themselves a strong program...

Their sports succeed at the conference-level (all HBCUs now with the re-make of the league) and nationally at the NAIA level. This extends to sports that HBCUs traditionally have not succeeded in - such as tennis. XULA seems to get the cream of the crop amongst young tennis players from Atlanta.

I've questioned whether they could go Div II - but their issue would be adding another male "team sport" (i.e. baseball, soccer or football). They already have two female sports (volleyball and women's hoops).

Spivery would be a good fit for Texas Southern. I believe he would really blossom in a Huge City like Houston.

And Alcorn State was 0-3 against the league in volleyball...

I believe that the league really needs to address these issues. Acorn hasn't had a volleyball coach in over 3 years. Then we have teams (basketball, baseball, tennis, etc) that are just not playing at the level of division 1 and the schools have no plans or ambition to play division 1 sports. Those issues needs to be addressed because it really is putting a black eye on the rest of us. It ain't fair to teams that have worked their azz off to be penalized because the performance or lack of performance of a conference member. Our schools will never advance if this teams are never required to reform to par.
Whom ever wins the swac because of these loses already knows that 1. They will be in the play in game.2) they will play the best team in the country..

Alcorn volleyball team looks like a intramural team full of girls who havent ever played the sport until they stepped on campus at Alcorn. They dont even LOOK like athletes.... the fans were on them so hard when they came to AAMU that I started to feel sorry for them.
