Is $40.00 to much to pay for a bow tie?? This bow tie will probably not go on sale any time soon

Thoughts

At this price I could get a couple at errr Ross, Marshalls, or hell even TJ MAXX

I would if it was super nice. I got a few $40 ties in my collection. I tend not to wear them often.

Yeahhh Pop it is super nice and they have two colors one black and one gold. GUD cant have one without the other but they wont be worn often at the price. I would be dropping almost 100. 00 on two
 
Let me clarify. the ties I paid over $40 for were on sale and normally were priced over $80. I have a few Brooks Brother's handwoven ties and I love them. One thing I can't stand are cheap polyester ties. They just look cheap and shiny. I
 



I have several bow-ties. I have one for my tuxedo, and several for the men's choir that we wear. Each one probably cost no more than $20 each, but they are not the top of the line ties either. I have a few other bow-ties that my wife bought from K&G that weren't expensive.

Im thinking Marshalls, Pennys, TJ MAXX or Marshalls.
 
Brooks Brother is the most over priced men's casual wear on the market. You can go in any thrift shop in Atlanta and find tons of that crap for $4. Same with Jos. E Bank, would never pay retail for either.
 
Bow-ties and suits are like watches to the guys who posted in the other thread.

I usually buy most of mine from Men's Warehouse and JosABank. Especially when they have he buy one get two or three sale.

These things are my guilty pleasure. The best thing was seeing my lady in a bow-tie saying she was my birthday gift....

Dammit Kenn we need a Men's Forum :emlaugh:
 
People spend top dollar for what they want...I almost spent a stack on a watch before my wife talk me out of it...so we all have things we splurge on...mines is watches and shoes.

I don't spend a lot of money on clothes. .. it would be hard for me to spend $40 on a bowtie unless it was 50-80% off and I would STILL have to pray about it. Now since the one that is the subject on this thread is a specialty item (that I am sure is ugly as fuk), I could see dropping $40 it.
