Would SU like The SU vs. Howard Football Series to Be Resurrected?

SU vs. NC A&T and SU vs. SC State would have to take place in Atlanta thus resurrecting the ATL Classic.

FAMU right now is an enigma. Some Jags don't want to play them, some do but only in ATL and not Home and Home. I've always believed Home and Home was better fit for SU vs. FAMU.

The reason I keep bringing up Howard I threads is because there is HEAVY, HEAVY, DEMAND for SWAC Football in the NE. Imagine SU playing Howard on Howard's Homecoming. Not only would there be Jaguar Nation there, but many other SWAC Alums as well would come to DC just to see the ballgame and because it's Howard's Homecoming.

Dude, I don't know one Jag that isn't interested in playing FAMU. It was how we were raised. Now folks may have their preference on where we play them. But the majority of Jags I know want to play them mofos on a yearly basis. It is what we are used to if you came up on the yard in the 70s 80s and 90s. Hell it goes back to the 40s when we first started playing them snakes. Nah man, you have no clue. SU folks would play FAMU 2 weeks in a row if we could. LOL.

It's not about playing Howard it's about playing in Washington, DC PERIOD. Howard just so happens to be the only HBCU fielding a Football team in DC. UDC does not have a Football Program to my knowledge.

You get your name out in DC, this may can lead to more corporate business dealings to help your program. It also increases the brand of the HBCU Football market.

Dude we got tons of alums in the DMV. We recruit students to SU from there. Got a ton of classmates from that area. Our brand is fine. I guess you don't realize how many of us are up there. Sheesh. Playing a football game in DC isn't going to make a big difference anyway. Unless we playing some Classic with a big payout.

BH, there's absolutely nothing to be gained by Howard playing SU, for the most part. However, from a recruiting perspective, a visit to one of the Texas schools would be in order. sTu had a series w/ us during the days of Sieh and (forgot the other talented RB's name).

Howard recruits Louisiana very hard. They have been trying to schedule SU, Ted White told me lol. SU has nothing to gain by playing them

Right. That's what I said lol. I'd rather Howard recruit from the lands where 4 of the top 10 HS academians nationally ranked lives. If I were seeking the best, in Howard's case, I would pursue it lol :D .

Also, the HS football talent here is unmatched, excepting Cali and Florida, so Howard would be returning to wise again open the doors of athletic recruitment (once recruited heavily) to recruit here. I'm not pissing. I'm stating fact. :D

I think Howard is more interested in Texas kids academically than athletically. They have a wealth of talent in the Tidewater area/ VA area all the way up to MD and not even counting North Carolina and South Carolina to really spend money on to recruit. Even going to Florida would be easier for them than coming into Texas seeing that they do play FAMU and BCU in that state. Just don't think they are interested in traveling like that unless a pay day is in the works. Just too much money to have to spend just to come to Houston and play TxSU which they did in the 90s and not get one kid to show up in DC. LOL. Ain't like those game are highly attended.

Louisiana is #1 per Capita of putting players in the NFL.

Howard played Texas Southern for a 75k payout. Without a return trip. They were willing to do basically the same deal with SU back 2013. They wanted to play in 2014.

Howard recruits Louisiana very hard, especially with Ted White on staff. They signed a kid from Zachary, and some from NO. They are usually recruiting the same folks as SU and Gram, but not with much success lol. I know SU wanted the saftey from Zachary. He brings that hat.

Yeah I understand that because of Ted. I just saying in general. Howard is close to good areas of talent that they should not have to be in deep South recruiting a lot and spending money. If they were committed to winning in football and investing in their program. They have athletes up the corridor in the MEAC. May not be Texas and LA. But it's enough kids to go after if they really spent the money to do so. Ted is just recruiting what he knows. Suge is up in Va coaching again I believe. He will tell you how much talent is there. Hell we see them on Sundays. Hampton and Howard have just never been consistent on whether they wanted to really put money into football. Meaning their facilities either. Norfolk State at least made an effort. I would rather play them if we visited up that way. I think that game would generate some interest. At least they got a decent stadium. LOL.

Look at the last time they had a good team(90's), it was Louisiana kids. Ted White, RB from BR(forgot his name) and some WR's from NO.

...Then what's wrong with saving your Alumni in DC a Plane Ticket and bringing SU Football to them to play Howard on Howard's Homecoming in DC? They probably have to fly to SU Homecoming. They want to show off their Football team just like you do.

SU scared of Howard in Louisiana recruiting? As if the team up 61 North in Lorman hasn't been recruiting Louisiana kids for Years and Kicking SU's ass in Football but this thread is about Howard vs. SU.

I can tell you all haven't gotten over the bad taste of 1996.

That's on them though V. You can't depend on players way out your region to save your program every year. That's why Howard sucks at football. They need to get players that can play from their region and get one or two or three players from our areas if need be. Coaching is another thing killing them. Having La players aint their norm. If Ted leaves that ends the pipeline from La. You may get a kid here or there. What they need is some coaches on their staff that have Florida ties. At least they can sell the kid that you will play in Florida every year in the MEAC for one game.

Just saying it was no reason they had to come to La to recruit with all that talent up and down that region. Heck they could have gotten a few FBS transfers up there with their academic reputation if they had put money into their football program. They just don't care.

Dude, nobody at SU is thinking about yall. You flatter yourself to much. SU folks rather take a loss from Alcorn than JSU or Gram. You just ain't in the equation. You act like Alcorn has been the thorn in our side to keep us from winning titles or getting to the SWAC championship over the years. You got scoreboard in the SCG last season. Nothing more and nothing less. Nobody from SU is losing sleep over it. BTW in 96 what did Alcorn do to SU to warrant any issue? We lost to TxSU and Cedric Douglass that kept us from 4 Pete-ing

Like I said, we not playing them unless it is a classic game where we can make money from it or in that bowl game. Now if P. Diddy wants to pay for the game and pay for our travel expenses, including the full band and cheerleaders, then maybe Howard will get a seat at the table.

This is the kind of thread you get when a school finally wins their one and only SCG.

Shole is... when it comes to BH 123...all I gotta say is

lol @ the Mecca experts.

How oxymoronic smh. I reiterate, there is ABSOLUTELY nothing for Howard to gain by playing SU smh.

LOL ... my wife's former neighbor holds a chemical engineering degree from Howard. He'll tell you straight up no one there cares about athletics.
