A temporary shakeup of the Southern athletic department became official Friday, though the cause of it remained unclear.

The Southern Board of Supervisors approved the university’s plan to reassign Athletic Director William Broussard to the Southern System Presidents Office for four months beginning April 1. It also approved men’s basketball coach Roman Banks taking over Broussard’s duties in the interim.

No one from the university offered any explanation for the highly unusual move, and Broussard indicated that his absence from the athletic director’s office might exceed the presumed end date of Aug. 1.

Broussard was asked in a telephone interview with The Advocate on Friday whether he expected to be athletic director Aug. 1. He replied, “I start in the president’s office April 1. I’m taking it one day at a time.”

In his first public comments since the plan was revealed Thursday, Broussard, 36, said he sees his new role as a fundraiser as an “opportunity” to further his career. When asked whether he would be job-hunting during the reassignment, he said he hasn’t “aggressively done that to this point.”

“If an opportunity comes across my desk, I would explore it,” he said, “but I’m not looking to jump ship next week.”

If he does I won't be mad at all.

But rumor is it, they think that the bullshit that happened back in 09 is all on him. Dumb azzes.

The highlighted and underlined phrases are cloaked phrases meaning that he won't be back. The man isn't coming back. This is just giving the school time to get someone else in place before August.
Besides, why would he want to come back after being publicly embarrassed by being reassigned? Dude ain't coming back.

Politically 'bullish' "clique" games in HBCU administration. I've seen this silly shat before. What a waste of talented resources because one or a few isn't in the limelight or is it simply sheer jealousy? *smh*

But they can't just give the position to someone else before he leaves.
They can reassign him to a different position even if he's still at the school. All he has to do is accept the position and the terms.
JSU's AD was just given a different title, but she's still at the school.

Can't get anything pass JaRob, that's for darn sure.

Like a drone from 50,000ft in the sky. *smh*

"I got it under control cap'n! I'm hovering in @ 100 feet just above Southern's football stadium.... I got that good eye on deze sonz-a-batches...."
*post PVAMU rhetoric in 5..4...3..2..*

Uhh...That's already been done. He has accepted the position in the system president's offiice. The terms are that he can return on Aug 1. Like I said, they can't hire anyone for the position BEFORE he leaves...if he wants the position back.

He definitely stays on top of things at SU 24/7/365 and in leap years 24/7/366. Thumbs up to you jayrob!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!!
There's not enough of anybody to keep up with the constant mess that's going on over there nevertheless it is good entertainment food though.:snicker:

But you make in a great effort.... Thanks!

That dude has a time machine link on SU's campus. He basically can tell us everything that's going to happen tomorrow at SU. Too bad he doesn't have those same capabilities at his own alum mater. It would be nice if he could tell us when that domed stadium will be completed. I'm sure just by mentioning the words "domed stadium" will get this thread closed real fast.

So you'd rather talk about a domed stadium rather than talking about a potential 40 million dollar funding cut?! LOL!!

Like I said, it's great entertainment when one sees constant bungling business decisions over and over and over. It's like su's leadership is the gift that keeps on giving.
