Someone should tell the NBA/NFL, & etc. to try the "SWAC" professional
ball players!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SWAC Players are still number 1 in professional sports.

The Professional owners should let foreign ball player stay in their own
country, with their own professional ball clubs. Black People don't need
another hero "(foreign)" in America. America need more Black People to
be American sports super stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We must stop buying
game tickets from clubs that have foreign professional players. The new
game is to bypass the Black College sports players and select a foreign
sports players. D-mm with American pro sports!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So Sunshine, should those foreign countries close their doors to black professional athlete's that don't get drafted by America's professional leagues? Seeing that a lot of black basketball players that don't make it to the NBA often time go to Europe to live thier dreams, and the CFL is an outlet for football players that don't get drafted by NFL teams.

Also, remember all of the BLACK American football players in NFL Europe are not allocated by NFL teams. Oh, don't forget, before the WNBA, all of those black women that didn't have a professional league of thier own here in the good Ol US or A, had to go overseas to play.

What about those black baseball players that go to Europe, and Japan to play baseball, because they can't make a Major Leage team here? Just asking.

I strongly agree that Black College Athletes should & must have jobs in
all professional sports in the "GREAT U.S. OF A.".$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
It's all about the White man's money game. He only gives money when he
can get more back from the same situation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the case of
the professional sports situation, the white man feels that it is better to give
contracts to foreign professional player then Black College Athletes!!!!!!!!
In this way, he [the man] can makes more money off the foreign players
then the Black College Athletes, because the foreign players have to

It makes dollar sense but it is wrong to take dollars from the Black Community

SWACSunshine, why are you complaining? If a Black athlete goes overseas to play pro sports, don't they still come back here and spend their money when they are at home? Don't they have family here that they send money to if and when they need it? They might be playing over there but their money is spent over here, too.
You seem to forget that before recently, there weren't that many foreign players entering the NBA, NFL, or MLB. Foreign players started getting more access to the the American professional sports world in probably the past 5 years or so. However, these same foreign countries have always had their doors open for atheletes (black and white) from the USA that didn't have all the tools necessary to play in the pro leagues here. So, you're saying that foreign countries can take our players and make them better but we should take the ones that they have that are good for the game as a whole?

Then, you are forgetting that some of these foreign countries and their teams are actually developmental leagues where players can work on their game and come back here and play. An example of that is NFL Europe (formally the World League of American Football). Players on teams over there are either late round draft picks or free agents signed to NFL teams here. They are over there to improve on a certain aspect of their game and get them a better chance of making and staying on an NFL team.
Before the NBDL (National Basketball Developmental League), players that didn't make NBA teams here went overseas to work on improving their game so they can make and stay on a NBA team.

The competition level is so high here that an exceptional player from the SWAC (Steve McNair, Walter Payton, Jerry Rice, etc.) has the best chance of making it in the pros. Sports is a business.
Would you give a $20 million contract and a starting postition on your team to a SWAC basketball player that needed to work on his defense and his perimeter shooting or would you spend that money on that foreign player that has an excellent outside shot and good defensive skills?

in pro sports??????? I remember when pro sport's clubs had employees
to help train the Black College Athletes to play pro sports!!! What happen
to those pro sports employee???????? I guess they are training the foreignors

I've never seen somebody get mad simply because foreigners have the same opportunities to play pro sports in America (where sports is big business).

For every foreigner in the NBA making 5 million or more a year, there's probably 10 AAs making the same or more.

Comparing today's pro athletes to slaves is a slap in the face to the memory of those who endured the hell of actual slavery.

um... I humbly disagree and you are coming from Barry Bonds position on the baseball field..slaves?? last time I was in Black History class, I don't recall any stories of slaves gettin' $2 million and a shoe deal from working in the fields

Heck them hispanic baseball players get spit through the baseball camps in their home countries just like black basketball players get spit through AAU league (read: gettin pimped for coaches working on behalf of shoe companies)

Now for the sake of discussion, your argument is only valid in the NBA and Major League Baseball (ain't a lot of brothers, but a plethora of foreigners in the NHL and the American Football- the NFL-is not really an international sport like "futbol"-soccer and we all know the U.S. is pretty much second-tier in that sport)

so let's say your uncle John makes $2 million/year while Johann Stravinki from Croatia makes $5 million... Stravinski could get you 20 points, 8 boards, six assists and two steals every night he steps on the court while uncle John is middling at best... you're crying foul..but last time I checked, Kevin Garnett is the highest-paid player in the NBA (and the reason for the lockout a few years back)

now let's switch it to baseball...uncle John makes $2 million while Pablo Vasquez from the Dominican makes $5 million... you're uncle John might be a .290 hitter who don't hit for power, doesn't knock in a lot of runs and plays somewhat decent defense... well Vasquez is a "five-tool" player.. might be hitting .340 with 40-plus homers and drive in 100 RBI annually..plus is a Gold Glove at his position...if you're uncle John's a pitcher...well he might not be a 20-game winner or can hurl it at 95 mph or faster or doesn't have better stuff on the hill like ol' Pablo.. ..BTW.. Alex Rodriguez (He's American) is MLB's highest-paid player and highest payed pro athlete ever..

Whether the foreign athlete or HBCU athlete gets paid is depending on P-E-R-F-O-R-M-A-N-C-E ...I can bet that Ben Wallace gets paid, and will get paid a helluva lot more than Manu Ginnobli of the Spurs ..and Bobby Phills (RIP) had signed a 5-year, $30 million contract with the Hornets a season before he died...Michael Strahan is the highest paid defensive player in the NFL last time if I'm not mistaken..

P.S.: I doubt Jesse would be running for anything anymore...

I don't think their are currently any foreign owners or management in any league, but Julius Erving, Joe Dumars, Isiah Thomas, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson have all recently been everything from GM's to team president's to part owner's of teams. Bob Johnson now owns the Charlotte Bobcat's. All of this is just off of the top of my head and only in the NBA. And the highest paid basketball are predominantly black.

Um Sunshine..you must've been watching a marathon of early Spike Lee movies or was watching Bill O'Reilly or something...

You misread what I said...salaries, esp. pro salaries are based on PERFORMANCE on the field... Heck if the foreginer puts up better numbers than the HBCU guy, then so be it and vice versa...I bet you weren't screaming when John "Hotrod" Williams was once the highest-paid player in the NBA (yes at one point he made more money than Jordan)..

Why you not up-in-arms about Grant Hill..he only played 37 games in 4 years and gets paid the max salary..what if he was a foreign player with that injury history, but with all that talent... would you have cut him then?

However, there are cases when teams overpay for sorry arse players (read: Seattle- Jim McAlvaine, Philly - Todd McCullouch, Any team after Seattle - Shawn Kemp and the list goes on..)...That is not a race problem..that's a talent evaluation problem.

I guess you're gonna say that Peyton Manning didn't warrant that contract he just signed..but it was his performance and his importance to that franchise that warranted that money...Just like Philly and McNabb..Just like the T-Wolves and Garnett

Now we all know if ANYONE is getting paid $5 million, they better not be collecting rust and splinters on the pine...There's no foreigners runnin' day-to-day operations for a major sports team (Kim Ng, the asian lady that runs the d-to-d for the Dodgers is American and don't let Kiki Vanderweghe's name fool you, the Denver GM is American)..

Heck the only foreigners I can remember that own a major pro team is a japanese group that owns the Seattle Mariners, and they don't do a darned thing when it comes to day-to-day operations...

speaking of foreigners..do you think Seattle's Ichiro Suzuki gets anywhere near A-Rod's, Derek Jeter, Manny Ramierez, Barry Bonds money...NO..and Ichiro IS a darned good baseball player....

So are you mad that Rickie Weeks is gettin paid less than Ichiro (two years removed from MVP season and a constant All-Star)? Don't worry, Rickie will get his due when he hits the bigs..

and BTW: Jesse should be suing Usher for that "Confessions" song..'cuz Jesse was singing the exact same song a couple years ago

The main point to remember is that there are no "Black College Athletes/pros"
in the pro sports presidency, nor owning a pro team!!!! Black Athletes that go
to white Colleges or universities doesn't count in this situation.
