Why The MCC Is The Greatest Classic

Man, most of yall Kountry bamma folks are dumb.

The Bayou Classic became larger because of Eddie Robinson, GSU winning ways in the past and success coming from SU winning in past years and also playing games in the Superdome.

THe highest attended Bayou Classics were the first 3, with the first one be the highest at 76,753. It was played at Tulane Staduim, which had a larger capacity than the Super Dome. That game decided the SWAC champion that year.

In fact, the first 3 years of the Classic Southern record was 8-3, 9-3, and 8-3

In 1975, the 2nd year of the classic Southern was Swac Co-Champs with Grambling and played in the Pelican Bowl and Beat South Carolina St. 15-12

As far as our 200K goes, he won more championships in 12 years than your whole school has since yall been in the SWAC.

Southern U. football did not "just" start winning as Ace Mumford produced 30 All Americans, 5 BCFNC & 11 SWAC titles prior to his untimely death in the early 60's.

:read:

How many championships did the Traditionless win from the Gerald Ford administration to the Gulf War in 1992? The time period spans the crown jewel of southern's history.

The day any of those two things happen is the day southern is mentioned in the same sentence as Grambling in the Icon books.

Tell LaFleur to buy SU some tradition with that FEMA money.

MD,

The MCC is booty. Before you all joined the SWAC, no one had ever heard of it and now that you in the SWAC...no one cares. The only people who care are the people in Alabama who come to their ONE game per year. BTW, I have not seen the MMW this year but I am sure they suck and will be blasted by the Sorry Marching Hornets A-dayum-gin.

I don't even listen to what this niggro has to say! This is the same dude that told me that CRAMPton Bowl has a bigger capacity than Mumford. :smh:

No one is saying that the MCC is not the bomb.. No one is saying that you are not a draw, my only argument in the past and now is that it's a social event. No one has ever gone to that game for football until very recently because neither of you had football teams until 5 years ago. A typical JSU fan has to get a schedule and decide if he is going to Memphis, Homecoming, Grambling, SU, Alcorn and at least one other big game that we have every year...ie...USM, CCC, Detroit Classic, Bham, Chicago Classic, etc. You all don't have that problem. We had a down year for HC attendance. When Grambling game to Jackson in 2001 (regular season game) we drew 25K to Memorial). AAMU can't get half of that to a homecoming. Because fans don't like Bell, we drew 25 for homecoming....if we had a better record, we would have had a minimum of 35K at homecoming. AAMU and AlaState have the MCC.....It's their one and only BIG event. Every school has homecoming.

TP, That's delusional. Do you think that Bama State and AAMU fans don't do the same, plan for the season.

The MCC is one of the top game in all of BCF and has been long before the two schools joined the SWAC. Admit it and move on.

Nope, they plan for the MCC. You all could play Spelman, Benedict, and some High Schools for the rest of your games because your fans only care to come to the classic. If all of our fans came to ONE game, it would be sold out now.

Seems like kremesaver's estimate of 90k was right.

"Could there be a playoff game any more exciting than Saturday's Magic City Classic, played in front of an estimated crowd of 68,238, with another estimated 30,000 fans milling around outside Legion Field?"

Hell, if you are gonna count the people outside the stadium, I guess we at the Bayou Classic have an attendance of no less than 4 or 5 hundred thousand. Since you chose to count all the people outside and all. And Please don't bring up food and tailgate parties anymore. The JAGUAR NATION invented that. OH and where in the hell you gonna get better food anyway than in North or South Louisiana. DAT BOOT BABY! SU and GSU always have done it BIG! It's just another level of the game...I wouldn't expect our little BAMA brothers to understand.

OH! OH! OH! and let's not forget that our Battle of the Bands, You know the "World Famed" and the "Jukebox" draws enough of a crowd to compete with the little "magic city thang" on its own. So that's two events in one weekend. So, little bama event fans Shut it Down, that's Game, Set, and Match.

You are welcome for the homecoming! :ebrow: Jag Notion! :bawling:

You are still bring up the word tailgate. Son we are the "Jaguar Nation", we do this on a scale that is just "Out of Sight" to a "mut" or "bug". Tailgate....tailgate.....What are we talking about here?......Tailgating? Dude, have you ever been on the Reservation (Alcorn) when the Nation is in town? Have you ever been to Jackson, MS when dem Jags and Tigers hook up? These to events can run hand and hand with the Little Magic City GATHERING! And it's like that every time we have a home game in the BR. So Dude you really need to get out more. Its a big big world out here, you know outside that great metropolis of ALABAMA.

I have been to both the JSU-SU game IN Jackson (tailgating cannot COMPARE AT ALL to MCC) and Legion Field parking lot is bigger than Alcorn whole campus so i KNOW that wouldnt compare at all.

CB4, You're smelling yourself a little bit too much now...

The ONLY events that CAN compare to the Magic City Classic are the Bayou Classic and the Florida Classic...the only two!

Fool, an SU home game does NOT yield 60,000+ in a stadium and your silly azz knows it! :smh:

The Magic City CLassic does that. SU has some of the best home attendance in the SWAC, but they aren't even averaging 20,000 a game, you moron.

And you're gonna try to compare it with the MCC...:lmao:

Wait a minute...have you even BEEN to a Magic City Classic??? :xeye:
With all your "little gathering" talk, you couldn't have possibly been, unless you're just dumb as hell!

I've BEEN to SU Homecoming and I've BEEN to the Bayou Classic (had a ball at both events), so I can support MY statements...can you do the same? :swink:

Again, I go back to my FIRST QUESTION:

So...where do YOU tailgate at the Bayou Classic? :look:

My statements about the Magic City Classic is based on bama state fans, coaches, and staff members that have attended both...all the events in question. We have talked over the years while there for the real reason to go to B-Ham, CHAMPIONSHIPS.......uupps.......my bad.......bad word for yall....Sorry!
So I do sympathize with you. I guess the MCC would seem very big and exciting to you, being it's the only big thing your program will partake in during the year.

The Bayou Classic is not about the Tailgate. That is an entirely different animal. That's "Get It How You Live" and "Do What U Wanna"

Hey but on the real, all jokes aside, I'm just glad to be kicking it on the topic. I'm super glad we have these events to compare and enjoy. Really and truely we need more like them.

get back at me.........

See?

That's what I'm talking about! :D

Magic City Classic...Bayou Classic...Florida Classic...

All very similar, yet very VERY different!

I've experienced two of them, but still have to get a FC experience under my belt.

I have been to some GREAT homecomings at various schools, but I am not gonna act like the HC event would even compare to one of those 3 Classics.

And even though the Bayou Classic is all great and everythang, you STILL couldn'tailgate there! :lmao:

We don't compare the MCC with any other game because it is the MCC. The MCC is not the BC, SCG or the 1-AAplayoffs it is the MCC. On TV they showed you the Vulcan on Red Mountain. The MCC has a life of its own which has lasted for 64 years. Again, even Bull Conner couldn't stop the MCC.

Sometimes it just take longer for some to comprehend the information that has been posted about the MCC. We never said we are the largest classic, we only stated that the MCC is the Greatest Classic. This is the 64th MCC and the reason folks like TP had never heard of it; is that families hid it from their kids because the kids would be asking Ma and Dad where are your mink coats? How come the other kids in our neighborhood are dressing up and it is not even Easter. You all probably did not hear about it because the Classic had an aristocratic present that even the late Bull Conner could not figure out. When all those black folks from Bama South and Bama North showed up all he could do was shake his head.

What ever those of you who are confoosed about the MCC, do not compare it to any other game.

Ma and Pa where are your mink coats?

:lmao:
