Why is it so hard to ACTUALLY talk SPORTS?

Devil's Gun Trigger Man

onward and upward son!
You ask a simple question to elicit insightful responses and folks go off on tangents about babymommas and bullisht that has NOTHING to do with SPORTS. Either that or somebody comes in and derails a discussion by obviously trolling and people fall for it EVERY time. If you don't know sports it's cool to just sit back and lurk, otherwise go over to smalltalk or the smackboard and trade verbal jabs and insults over there. It seems as if every topic now-a-days just U-turns and starts devolving.

Relationships are too established here and the board is to mature. It is like an old married couple. No discussion is about the topic at hand but the past decade of discussion.

Sorry DGTM, but when the conference you are in doesn't take sports or improving seriously, you can't do nothing but .

Maybe the SWAC can be like Baylor. Be the whipping boy and get resurrected. But I don't see it.

That's because most ppl are pros at smack but when it comes down to x's and o's.....I could out-talk half the men on this board and im 18 years old lmao

I think it's ADD Syndrome, or ADHD...but anyhoo, the topics are recycled when it comes to SWAC sports. Everyone's opinion has been stated over and over in countless threads so basically you're posing the same question just worded differently.

What happens when people continue to discuss and say the same thing over and over...they lose focus.

When it's a "new" topic on the Sports Board...you get new responses and for the most part, people stay on track. But if it's about SWAC sports...same shyt, different day. :noidea:

Just my observation...

This what gets some people in trouble on the Sports Board.

But every year the same subject may come up but the QB is new, the head coach is new, etc... so there is a new direction the old question can go into.

Trigger Man.. I think everyone predicted their team would win at least 7 games...even Valley.

Thanks for that insightful topic.

Don't cry about recycled threads now. Every time somebody wants to be progressive in a new area its, "Do You Give Back" OR "You must think White is Right".

If it wasn't for threads about the SEC, HBCU Drama (looks at Doug, etc.) wouldn't be much to talk about honestly.

I hear you, but it's not the same. Every year is different because kids graduate, quit, transfer, and etc. I do think it speaks to a larger issue of alot of people not really being fans and just blindly talk about teams because that is their school.

#Troll #ExhibitA

Negro I asked YOU a question about Valley and you didn't even provide a response. And actaully, 90% of that thread is football related. It just morphed into a discussion about Crowell's success as a RB. ..which is comparatively speaking.. minimal. No matter the direction of the thread.. people could answer. SU people were typing jokes. JSU and ASU got into a STATS battle about our running backs. ...who are clearly the best in the conference.

I agree and folks want to talk about me. Some people on this board act _________

If you would have read you would have seen that I said continue reading #2 and it would have explained to you the answer to your question. No I didn't go in-depth but if you were that concerned you could go over to SWAC.org and look up the people returning and what they did last year and it will show you why I feel there is optimism about the offense going forward. I provided the cliff notes version by simply saying we have weapons returning and coming in.

There is a fine line between a heated sports discussion and smack. There were like 4 posts in the whole thread that talked about a baby mama. The rest was about sports. ...and since MOST of ya'll just read anyway.. STHU! :D

Ok.. so you didn't answer.

You start a topic that YOU don't want to even discuss yourself but then get upset that others want to debate about players and stats. Interesting.
