Why I am semi-frustrated w/ PV athletic recruiting, not just fball

This kid.. :smh: Yes, he signed w/ WVU but the street that dead-ends @ campus front door TOUCHES (literally) his home area along 45SB. :| Look @ what a real weightroom-w/ real weight training does to that sorry 'speedy' hightower squad (o-linemen) and those same o-linemen will "find" their way to PV's campus. ( P88----> :retard: ) *thinks to self, if they were getting drove in HS, what is going to happen once they get to college? :retard: )

Before I hear another <b><u>excuse</u></b>, just answer the question <b>"Did you try to recruit him?"</b> Better still, did you FIND your way to dfw <b>suburban better and bigger school districts</b> to recruit academically and athletically sound students? :read:

They're so, so, so, SO accessible (sub-types) and are now so, so, so, SO open (their parens inclusive) as they "integrate." :retard: Damned ridiculous.

I thought hightower was supposed to be one of those outer super-powers on the "south-side" lol of houston. (?????????) TWHS, yah, better facilities, 8 full-time S&C coaches, dedicated weightroom strictly for football players open 24HRs a day - keycode access, blah blah blah but still... The contest was close, if memory serves correct.

I'm still perplexed why PVAMU doesn't <b>actively</b> recruit my home county and every D-I FBSer in america does.

Hightower is in FBISD and its in an area where you see coaches leave the school despite having d-1 talent every year and playoff caliber talent at that....They lost one coach to a new CFISD school and the last coach left there for Klein Forest...kinda odd, isn't it?

my cousin coaches in that same school district Panthro is alluding to which feeds into College Park....different type of kid out there

You should be frustrated. PV was the worst school I've seen in a while not only talent wise but coaching also. Good luck ...sorta

I have questions about certain aspects of our recruiting but I trust the ones that get paid for it have waaaaay more inside information than I do, so oh well.

Ain't paying as much as Cy-Fair.

The recruiting deal is quite perplexing. How some won't even try for several upon several kids that are literally w/in a 45 minute commute of the front door of the particular school. Ask DallasCowboyGirl how many SWAC schools <b>actively</b> attempted to recruit her son, DGTM. I think it quite compelling her response(s) which seems to be more typical than atypical. While you're @ it, ask Sperm/VaNita how many SWAC schools attempted to recruit their talented daughter.

For whatever ungodly reason, quite a few PVers thought I'd become pissed that PV didn't recruit my 3.5 star son 'yellow-fballer' when he came out a few years back as my rationale for becoming "salty" about PV athletics. Far from truth. Guess through the recent years, I'd become somewhat close to certain successful D-I FBS fball schools (recent transitioned) and just <b>listening</b> and observing how they conduct business, their (improved/improving) facilities, their professionalism and saw some major atrocities about PVAMU that just shouldn't be, @ this present day in time, considering all that we'd (a whole lot of us) donated over the decades (plural). (namely the stadium :smh: ; all talk zero stolid plan w/ zero stolid leadership in place whilst big-daddy aTm sys muses and continues to escalate the Tarleton State Universities of the aTm system towards heights of success academically and athletically - improvement upon improvements :smh: )

I feel you bruh, that has always been my problem, atleast talk to them, even if they laugh in your face or whatever. Don't automatically assume folks don't want to come to your small school.

You feeling me. :| It's SICKENING not even attempting to try. That's my issue. Just try. And you shouldn't expect alumni to start attempting to hand-deliver 3-4 star recruits into your lap and do YOUR job while you sit back, draw a check, and don't even ATTEMPT to recruit who's literally 3.56$ worth of gas from your campus front door.

The message that I receive, while in the home area mainly, is that West Virginia, Iowa State, Ohio State, Oregon, Oregon State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, univ of tx :retard:, aTm :retard:, Sam Houston State, Stephen F Austin, Texas State, UT-SA, rice :retard:, Univ of Minnesota, damned Auburn :retard:, and others are somehow beneath you since you won't even ATTEMPT to recruit who they're recruiting locally. This is Panther88-------> :retard:. WTF?!

Thats true in some cases. But sometimes it is truly a waste of time. I remember Dr Johnny Thomas came to Dallas Skyline to recuit. He insisted in meeting Michael Morgan, morgan went to USC. We set it up and it lasted about 15 seconds. Funniest stuff ever.

What did he do wrong empty? What did Dr Thomas do that was chaotic? Was it a lack of professionalism? Too "stiff?" (PhDs... I can only imagine :smh: )

Give us the insight brah. You're in the know. Hell, I know you have 15-17 <b>D-Iers</b> on your returning squad this fall, so, it would be nice to bless some folx out (recruiters) if they're not actively attempting or are not selling the university and its overall experience correctly. :|

Re: Why I am seim-frustrated w/ PV athletic recruiting, not just fball

some of these black colleges dont even have decent appearal contracts. The russell athletic deal is a joke. I go to a hbcu I got to bring my own gloves cleats socks wfistbands dri-fit gear etc... Go to a pwc and that stuff is unlimited.. Texas A&M -Commerce aka East Texas State has 3 practice fields, unlimited nike gear and they are D2.. An hbcu had better have a hell of a sales pitch to beat that.

 Yeh, I'm familiar w/ D-II E-Tx-St (aka aTm-Commerce) . EVERY school in the aTm system is coming up infrastructure wise but... Prairie View, its only FCS institution.

What about the professionalism empty? How's that been, overall?

Pv88 I have to defend my coaching brethren. Most are trying damn hard. In a lot of cases hs coaches and parents are slammin the door in their face...The kids arent even meeting the coaches. I can tell you some horror stories not even being allowed into a school. ... Sad but damn true.

I would've thought w/ true <b>professionalism</b> that those closed doors would've become open(ed). Am I wrong? Am I not seeing this correctly? What are we missing here? There's a HUGE disconnect and I, out of curiosity, am trying to figure it.

this is very true also

There are simple things that we do not even think about. One example; Unlimited eating priviledges in your dorm cafe. Steaks, shrimp, etc. It will sway a half empty stomach.

Or HS coaches throwing recruits letters in the trash or not returning phone calls to college recruiters from certain schools and/or those that call for certain kids....happens at a few schools in east Texas that I know of personally because I was there when the parents had to get involved. While some SWAC recruiters definitely need to step there game up, I would not put all it on them as to why they aren't able to recruit certain kids.

Ahhh now GR I am jealous I thought we were the only one you felt that way about...I see you like to spread your love around:confused:

Now DCG, you know that is your fault he felt that way, yall posting those JSU fan pics when they had that most unenjoyable (is that a word LOL) trip to Houston :smh:

Re: Why I am seim-frustrated w/ PV athletic recruiting, not just fball

A lot of kids get bad advise from coaches and teachers. They completely ignore our schools until after signing day.

It is hard to compete with what the others have to offer.

I can see that. I know how some of the hisotrical segregationists, except for the football field :emlaugh:, are. IMHO, that would necessitate the drive there for a face to face. But, in order to maximize that visit, it would require coordination and organization. Those 2, I'm not sure some are capable of. If you're going to do the dfw metroplex, schedule several upon several upon several face to face meetings. What I find almost perplexing is that I can get in Hal's face, on a whim :retard:, during lunch and we discuss his kids and why none are enrolling @ texas public schools (spoke only of PVAMU lol) but are being seduced to upstate Washington state :retard:, kansas, missouri, et al. What I find EQUALLY perplexing is someone of his stature that did not know that Prairie View was a part of the aTm system. An alum of the school should NOT have to educate a powerhouse HS football coach on a university or its affiliation during HIS lunch hour. THAT is a university rep's job. :read: Afterall, they're drawing the check for it aren't they? :read:
