Why Are Good Men And Women Rejected?

Rejection is something we all have experienced in some form or another. If not careful, rejection can lead to several emotional and psychological traumas like, low self-esteem, discouragement, anger, depression, and suicidal thoughts. The word reject is defined as- refuse to accept, consider or grant. Just the very definition of the word alone, brings hurtful feelings when it’s been done to you. The idea that someone won’t accept or want us causes instant heartbreak, whether if it is a parent, spouse, friend or a love interest.

Knowing that you are good godly man or woman, you may wonder why and what’s wrong with you. A common phrase that is said a lot is, “Get over itâ€. To me, this is one of the most insensitive and unrealistic things to say to someone who has suffered a hurtful rejection. It’s like telling someone who is very sick, “Oh, just get wellâ€. The reality is we don’t just get over it so easily. Just like a physical scar takes time to heal, so does an emotional scar. And the healing doesn’t come any quicker by someone telling us “Get over itâ€. However, we don’t have to have a low self-esteem or feel sorry for ourselves. We may not be that person’s choice but we will be someone else’s choice and more importantly we are God’s choice.

God’s acceptance is the only one that really matters. When we are accepted in the beloved, we have God’s favor upon our lives and when we have his favor; his blessings are bestowed upon us. Proof of this is shown in the lives of the heroes of faith who were also rejected. David was the youngest son of Jesse’s seven other sons. (I Sam 16:10-11/ I Sam 17:12-14) David was not regarded by his father to be presented before Samuel as a selection for the next king of Israel. But David was already God’s choice and Samuel sought him out and anointed him King.

Maybe because, you chasing people caught up in the world and who hold up worldly things as being more important than godly people and things.

Mazjag,

I totally get where you are coming from. I have been there, done that and bought the t-shirt!

However, what about the above mentioned godly people who reject other godly people.

The divorce rate among Christians is scary!

BTW, thanks for the dialogue.
