Which Movies had the best climax?

I have seen many movies that have great opening scenes and great suspense throughout, but the ending sucks.

My first choice would have to be Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Newman and Redford get blasted in still frame. A CLASSIC ending!

Man, I think some of my favorite classic endings came from the old Sphagetti Westerns. I like the ending of the Good, The Bad and the Ugly when Blondy (Clint Eastwood) shot the rope off Tuco's neck at the end of the movie....classic.

I also liked the ending of Shane....was he dead, could he not hear the lil boy ???

I also liked when Clint Eastwood rode off in the sunset and dissapeard in Pale Rider therby letting everybody in the town know he was really a ghost.

Also the ending of Scarface was cool because you thought for a minute that Tony Montana was truly invincible until ole boy broke out the double barrled sawed off to da back.

But, I remember as a young un asking my pops did Butch and Sundance die at the end of that movie....my dad was like,

"Son do you really wanna know the answer to that question?"

What about Norman Bates at the end of PSYCHO talking in his mother's voice.........CHILLING!!!!!!!!!!!

I get chills thinking about that movie!

The ending of the Usual Suspects was just classic in my opinion.
Tombstone's ending was pretty good.

Goodfellas and Dusk Till Dawn........had nice endings, the movie was explosive all the way to he end.

While we're on the subject of good movies

I'll give each of these a  as well....rented them over the w/e and enjoyed em all.

  • Hardball - Keanu Reeves is the star.....really good story line
  • Don't Say A Word - Michael Douglas is the star
  • Ruby's Bucket of Blood - Angela Bassett stars in this one
  • "O" (Othello) - Mekhi Phifer's in this with the white girl

Malcolm X (1992)
(Brother Spike built the climax on this one)

Swordfish (2001)
(One of the best action sequences I've EVER seen)

Face Off (1997)
(John Woo may be the climax master)

Disappearing Acts (2000)

All About Eve (1950)

*I'm still thinking....their are many others.....*

I forgot...

The climax of Dirty Harry was classic with Eastwood.

Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct.

Morgan Freeman in SEVEN.

Arnold Schwarzenegger in End of Days.
