What other SWAC jobs did Spady apply for before being hired at AAMU?

[2kool]

I know he interviewed at Southern. Did he interview at Grambling after the back to back titles? Any other schools?

Im just curious.

In 2012, Coach Spady applied and was a semifinalist for the Head Coaching Job at Southern. Some of the semi-finalists included Spady, Brian Jenkins (who was then at Bethune Cookman) and Dawson Odums (who had just finished his first season as the JAGS interim coach. The article below explains the search in detail.

He never applied for the Grambling job, because he already knew, he wasn't going to get it

So he was OC for the two titles, and wasn't going to be considered for an open HC job. What was the rationale?

That is not true. Spady was VERY MUCH interested in the job and had no reason to believe that he wouldn't get it. A mix-up in the application process prevented Spady from being "officially" considered.

He prob would have applied for the JSU job but he was already hired by AAMU before Comegy was fired. Also, there is no way anyone aside from Old Man Jackson was gonna get that job...
