What Makes A Woman Run Away From A man?

:read: Why do women run from relationships/marriage....

1. Past trauma - fear of getting hurt again (adultery, physical abuse, mental abuse, saw her mom/sister/aunt/friend abused at the hand of a man)...
2. Enjoys independence (she got her own car, money, house, etc.)
3. Doesn't do crazy...

Just my thoughts.

As for the other argument going on in this thread... I hear the men say that they don't agree with placing their wife in a position of priority because women are users and such... Aren't your moms women? So are they (your moms) users too? Did your dad NOT put your mom in a position of priority? Do you follow in his footsteps? Did your dad defer to HIS mom rather than to YOUR mom in decisions concerning family? If he did are they still together? I'm not trying to pick sides at all....I would seriously like to know the answers to these questions... Because marriage and creating a family unit takes work. sacrifice and committment if it is to last...

Can't wait to see the feedback on this one.

DrGSU...I don't think many get it...thus the state of relationships...:bawling:

Too guarded and always thinking every woman will use them and not give anything (love, respect, etc) in return. And also not wanting to take responsibility in the choices they make in women and/or neglecting how they are as a person in relationships. And yes, women are also guilty of this. Nobody wants to do self-evaluations. It's always the other person's (other sex) fault.

I've got a friend right now who can't keep a man to save her life. It's so sad. And the guys she dates are actually decent guys (or so they seem from my view point), but she fails to see how selfish and unyielding she is. If I were a man, I'd run off too. But she doesn't see that she's the common denominator in her failed relationships.

See your beautifulness, most gorgeousness, most sexiness of all woman kind, women no matter how brilliant, and fine you are think to much. The answer to all your questions is one simple answer. Momma is momma. No matter what faults momma have, she is momma. You never view momma as you view all other women. Yes, you know and learn the craftiness of women from your momma, aunts, grandma, but you never place momma in that category, because you understand momma gott do what momma gotta do to raise you. It is just like daddy will never admit his lil girl is doing what she does. She is and will always be daddies little girl. See, simple.

Oh, I get it now... So all women who are mommas fall into that category then. So in essence all women who are mommas gotta do what they gotta do... Thanks for clearing that up for me! This thread can close now

What we are saying is that it doesn't have to be an issue of preference. I don't even think it's supposed to be an issue of preference. But sometimes the girlfriend will try to overstep her boundaries (position of priority) and disrespect a man's mother, or dictate how the relationship between her man and his mother is supposed to be. When those boundaries are overstepped, and the man does nothing about it, then something is severely wrong.

I STILL don't understand how the girlfriends (wives) expect their men to put them on a pedestal AND put his mom on the backburner because her and the momma don't see eye to eye...then try to judge that same man based on the way he treats his mother. A lot of times, women take into consideration how a man treats his momma. If he is so easily willing to throw his own momma by the wayside to please his girl, then what does that say to you about him? How would you mothers feel if your son prioritized a girl whoyou don't like (or who doesn't like you) over you?

Simply put, the same way women will judge men based on how he treats his mother, men will judge women based on mutual respect between her and his momma. Any sensible man would move around if his girlfriend doesn't like his mother. A man's relationship status with a girl can change at anytime. But a man's relationship with his mother is never going to change.

As long as she is your momma. See, momma can always get a pass, but any other woman, is not momma, therefore her pass is revoked upon application, but there is a technicality. If she becomes your baby momma the same rules apply in small print though. get it. :swink:

But what are men saying about women that other women aren't saying about women? It MUST be true if EVERYBODY is saying it right. Nobody is perfect. Everybody has their flaws...yes, even momma.

But would you let somebody (ie your girl or wife) disrespectfully talk about your momma to your face? Would you feel just as insulted if that same somebody talked about any other woman to your face. Let's face it. The respect for momma is on a different level than anybody else. What's so hard to understand about that? Why does the girlfriend (wife) even feel the need to steal a man's respect for his mother? Is the respect he has for his girl (wife) not enough? If it is, then why are we even discussing this?

Maybe the difference is the level of attachment to momma, that some dudes have
and the amount of involvement in everyday life with momma

My woman and my momma would never be in any kind of conflict, because
for the most part their lives are seperate

I thought this was about placing your wife in the priority position; not about respecting and disrespecting...No one should disrespect anyone - male or female, husband or wife, father or mother... Anyone can respectfully disagree. IMO, a husband and wife should be in agreement with regard to matters of their family and home... His mother and her mother should respect that fact. There is no place for TWO women making separate and alternate decisions in a marriage relationship.. Just as there is no room for TWO men to make separate and alternate decisions in a marriage relationship... Let's flip the script.... How would a married man feel if his wife favored her father's opinions and decisions over his? How would that same man feel if his wife chose to defer to her dad and disregard what her husband thought, i.e. relugated him to a position beneath her dad? Because after all, as Cee said, she is daddy's little girl... And please keep in mind this is with respect to married couples...not bf and gf...

Of course, he would be. They want to be regarded soooooo highly but somehow don't want or feel the need to show the same respect and honor to the woman they call their wives/significant others. :(

Yes and no. As far as running the house as a married couple, it should be about the husband and wife...the end. Besides, it's not as if a husband will go running home to momma if things aren't going well in his own home. It's not like that at all (at least I hope not).

The wife and mother both play important roles in a man's life. But the problems come when one doesn't know how to play their role and overstep boundaries. The wife HAS to understand that his mother will always have a place in his heart that no other woman will be able to replace...EVER. Some wives will try and sever ties between her man and his mother (or entire family) if they don't see eye to eye, and they'll do whatever is necessary to sever those ties. I've seen it too many times.

I imagine (never been married) that married men do not wish to show any kind of favoritism or priority of one over the other. So why does it seem as if men have this ultimatum forced upon them (by the girlfriend or wife)? I shouldn't even have to come to that. Unfortunately it does sometimes...and most of the time, the girl/wife will be forced to eat crow. It's almost as if a husband's affinity toward his wife is simply not enough for her.

Bottom line, if a woman expects to be with a man and be HAPPY, she will have to learn to respect the relationship he has with his mother...even if she doesn't agree with it. Otherwise, she can move around. He'll still be his mother's son LONG after the girlfriend (wife) is gone.

Again...it boils down to knowing your role. I don't know how many husbands/boyfriends are going around trying to be their girlfriend's/wife's daddy. Guys aren't trying to steal a woman's affection and admiration she has for her father. Besides, doesn't a man have to ask the father for his daughter's hand in marriage? And doesn't the father have to give his blessing? Do they still do that? I imagine that if they do, then there has to be some kind of mutual respect between the man and the daughter's father...meaning they have to acknowledge each other's existence and respect the roles they play in the woman's life.

Men aren't telling their wives or girlfriends to forget their daddy if they want to be with him. But women will tell their boyfriends/husbands to in a heartbeat (if they felt they had to).

I definitely saw this. Got to a point where I could barely talk to my mother without getting that "Leave and cleave" Bible verse quoted to me. On the flip side, we couldn't make a decision without her parents being consulted by her. Contributing factor to that relationship ending.
