What is the greatest upset in any sport in your school's history?

[JROCK]

Tennessee State 1986 Schedule

[CEE DOG]

Another great game was in 1995 or 1996 when Jackson St was the SWAC champs and we kicked their arse in Legion Field in Birmingham AL.....

That is 3 schools from the SWAC that had some hellacious playoff upsets and some of the biggest in their schools D-1 history in this thread. That is one hell of a message about SWAC baseball.

On a side note, the SWAC had a few big moments in baseball before D-1 in NAIA World Series games.

NAIA World Series Finals (It would be nice to make it to the College World Series {CWS} one day soon):

[CEE DOG]

We also got to add when AAMU made it to the elite eight in D2 basketball tournament. I think it was in the D-II: 1988, 1994, 1995, 1996 time frame

[JROCK]

Texas Southern leave a parting gift to the NAIA-1977 the year before moving to D-1 (in basketball) with a National Championship was pretty big as well

[Brave]

Alcorn beating Miss State in the NIT, was so big that it propelled all D1 HBCUs into the March Madness tournament the next season. HBCUs weren't eligible prior to that game.

[swac4life]

Braves basketball 1979 we were 28-0 played MSU in Starkville in the 1st round of NIT and won 91-89 that put our basketball program on the map nationally at that time.

[SWAC&MEAC Degrees]

I would say a tie:
In 1987 when Southern U. Baseball Jags upset #1 Cal State Fullerton in the regional playoffs
In 1993 when Southern U. Running Gunning Basketball Jaguars upset ACC Tourney Champ Georgia Tech

Absolutely great wins for the HBCU world.

[swac4life]

SU needs to add now the next time they beat the Braves in a football game

[EB]

PV won at Tulane in men's basketball in December of 1997. This was the season they went to the NCAA tournament against Kansas.

[LAW DAWG]

Texas Southern University over #6 Mississippi State 8 to 4 this season in college baseball.

I'd like to see our basketball teams have more frequent big wins like the baseball programs.
