What is more important:

1. The Book
2. The Field Show

To me its a difficult question because if your field show is tip top because you've be practicing on it all week during practice (from 7 to11:38) your book suffers.

But if your book is 85 songs deep and your band is proficient in the performance of all of the songs, that means that you all practice your book alot during the week, which means that the precision of a field show may not be there.

So which is more important????
 

Personally I'm leaning toward the field show but by a slight margin. Both are very important. The book will showcase the diversity of the band as far as musicality etc... . The field show displays diversity in a broader level such musicality, marching technique and drill execution/creativity.


I would say 60% field and 40% book.
 
Why can't it be 50/50?

When I was in the band,....I was always told that halftime was the show. However,....I personally feel through consistant time management practices,....why can't you evenly focus on both???
