What do you expect from your school this season?

umm don't let FACTS get in the way. Crowell wasn't convicted of anything. The player from Jsu was. But even given that, after he had been there and played for a year, his whole conviction wasn't even a story anymore on here. Crowell wasn't convicted of anything, but yet you have continued on with your rampage against this young man.
!!

His charges were dismissed in April - almost a year after yall begged him to come to your school. Those charges were still pending during the season. Don't get all self-righteous now.

But beyond that, maybe he wouldn't be such a flash-point if ASU would stop hyping him as the 2nd coming after 2 decent seasons.

Your "2 backs" had more carries than Crowell. Just like in most games, he didn't touch the ball enough ("folded up" by barlow)

Maybe the staff saw something was not working in the run game. Your o-line was prob weak which is why you all went out and got some o-linemen who should be able to run block. I'm still thinking he might quit on the ride back from Jackson. Does he ride the bus with the rest of the team? :snicker:

Tommy Gooden: 107 601 5.6
Rahkeem Sims: 152 784 5.2
Crowell: 159 842 5.3

Again, everyone says there RBs don't get the ball enough. Heck we had a QB and 2 RBs go over 600 yards. None of our guys had as many carries as Corwell. And for all the talk about Barlow folding him up against us, maybe we just utilized better ball control. That's on your defense. They couldn't stop our backs. Crowell didn't do much against us when he had the opportunity.

I think you guys are the sleeper in the conference. PV's offense led by either of your two QBs should be explosive. Will your defense like ours step up?

That's the golden question for both Bama State and PV. If we even "slightly" improve on defense we'll be in position to win the West. It's good that both teams brought in new DCs this year. I'm not of fan of playing two QBs but I look the idea of having two good QBs that are available at any time.

but they're not pending now. This stupid rampage continues on now

as for begging him to come to ASU, I'm sure it was not more than others that recruited him. And not anymore begging than yall did for Casey, or Michael Dyer.
Kettle.....POT......

What promotions/hype have you seen from ASU for Crowell? Or any other player?

Because he saw he was not getting anywhere.
Don't matter either way, Crowell don't stir up fear in nobody.

Exactly. Maybe Crowell will break out this year, I have no idea. But if it was Barlow holding him back in the first place, what makes anyone think that will change? People always want their backs to get 20-25 carries a game and control the clock but that just doesn't happen anymore. In last years game Jenkins was more of a running threat than Crowell.

If Crowell plans to go pro after this year, he needs to talk to Eric Haw. He's no better than Haw if you ask me.

I need to see who's at Fall camp to determine if we are going to be good or just okay. Right now, we are good enough to win 7 games. If we can stay healthy on the O-Line and get some depth at DT we should be okay. I'm not worried about the LB, DB's or skill guys on offense.

Southern's offensive line and defensive backs will be the determining factor in how SU does this year. If we get a semblance of a running game going with Tillery and Coleman and can get of DB's to be proactive instead of reactive, Southern can surprise a lot of folks this year.

Did you have a running game last year?

My Golden Lions

Offense-
• Score early and often
• Improvement in the red zone
• Increased TOP/longer drives
• Hurry up/no huddle offense

Defense-

• More blitz defense
• More forced turnovers
• More defensive scoring

Overall Team-

• Stay focused
• Decrease/minimize penalties; we only had 4 during the regulation game against JSU (it’s a small step but proof that it can be done)
• Play hard, play smart, play well for an entire 4 quarters; regardless of the score or what the refs call, don’t give up!
• STAY FOCUSED!!! One play at a time, one game at a time……..100% all the time!!!!!

I just hope we have another good season!:)

and to think, you had the damn gall to refer to JR and myself as Sambo for not co-signing to boycott the state of Florida.

You sir, are full of it!!!!

Oh my bad. Dude thanks for calling ole GR out on that. GR didnt know that you had to be CONVICTED of a crime for us to bring it up and keep mentioning it. Sheeeesh...man thanks. I thought if a thug kept getting in trouble with the law and was caught with drugs and guns over and over and was in and out of the system that was enough for us to mention it on this board. Gee willikers...I didnt know that thug had to be convicted first. Im so glad you have marked the threshold for me.

Now I know better....since you have moved the goalpost again.

You know what would be even better???? If you would stop throwing stones and then hiding your hands. Quit actling like you or Crimewell is so innocent when you are the biggest shit starter on this board. But Im going to take the high road on this one.

Anyone can say that. Crowell's ypc average was no better than our 2 backs.

There you go arguing with facts again. Why do you do that all the time?

But that doesnt matter, cause Crimewell scored 15 TDs last year, (after the team got the ball all the way to the goal line
and let him score the TD). He's amazing....he's the greatest recruit:) in the history of the SWAC.

I tried to tell them last year that Crimewell wouldnt work as hard at BamaState because he didnt have to earn his job. He was thrusted into the starting lineup in front of people who were actually working hard. That kid never got in shape so Barlow did what he had to do. Maybe Barlow didnt give him enough money at the BurgerKing

Our secondary ugh. I'm not sure who will start along side Virgil and McDuffie. Running backs I think Tillery will take the starting spot but him and Coleman will split carries 50 50. After I don't know. Oline will be a lot better and a lot of numbers there.

Did you have a running game last year?
if the oline open holes anybody could run through. Doesn't matter who is running behind there dude
