What came first? The Sperm or the Egg?

I wanna be your lover...
I know Adam got here first and Eve came here second. BUt, they didn't come through sexual intercourse. And as far as I can tell, until that big screw up in the the Garden of Eden, sex and childbirth as we know it, weren't even part of the picture.

So do you think God would still have Adam walking around with a bunch of sperm he didn't need? Or Eve with eggs that wouldn't have to be fertilized or released?

Inquiring minds want your opinion.

By the way, I'm SURE the egg came first. Women are first in everything else, so why not this too. ;)

Uhhh...they probably didn't have sperm and eggs since they were not going to reproduce.

Check in Genesis to find out what actually happened so other's opinions won't get in the way of the truth.

I really don't quite get your question. Adam had sperm so he could reproduce with Eve to start the generations to come.

The question is...if there was no need to reproduce sexually before the Garden of Eden fiasco, why would we NEED sperm or eggs? But since things changed and we begin having sex to reproduce...which one would have been, in your esteemed opinion, would have been produced first???

By the say, The bible does NOT address this particular issue.

Before I chime in on my opinion, let me ask this: What kind of answer do you want????

Do you want a 'spritually-based' answer, based on God's creating Adam and Eve.....

Or do you want a 'scientific' answer, based on the theory of Evolution.....

I'm asking because I don't upset anybody and start any arguments. 'Cause you know how 'sensitive' some people get sometimes...

:(

The chicken came first....... Had to....

But then the next question would be, where'd the chicken come from? Right??

The chicken EVOLVED from some other form of 'foul', just like every other animal.....Including us....

To me, there's too much scientific evidence to support the 'notion' that man evolved from the apes.... And the same can be said when looking at other species. And (seemingly) we're so willing to accept that other life-forms EVOLVED or were genetically engineered (for a specific purpose), but yet some of us want to overlook the notion that it happened to us too......

The chicken came first......

Just like ape came before man, wolves/coyotes came before dogs, etc. etc.

No sensitivity here. I think you're trying to get some right answers to your question. I'm no authority on everything in the bible, but from what I've studied the bible does address this issue. There was no need to produce sexually before Adam because God created Adam and pulled the woman from Adam. God commanded Adam to be fruitful, and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it. To answer your question....since man was created first then the sperm was first. This is no chicken and egg scenario.

Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after out likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the flowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and relenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every linving thing that moveth upon the earth.

2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

2:15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
2:18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
2:21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
2:22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of Man.

3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception;in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord
4:2(a) And she again bare his brother Abel.
4:25(a)And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth:

5:1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
5:2 Male and female created he them: and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
5:3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:
5:4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years; and he begat sons and daughters:
5:5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.
