West out at Alcorn!!

after that article aint noway in hell anybody with common sense would apply for this job.
Why? Because the new AD might expect the coach to win more than 11 games per year and at least qualify for the SWAC tourney. Then I agree ain't noway in hell someone with common sense apply for this position!!

they gave West NOTHING to work with... ONE assistant, not even a damn certafied trainer.

There will be two more firings announced VERY soon..

bandfan why you being so quiet???? lol

That's a damn lie. Please don't believe all that B.S. that was in that article. West was probably the one responsible for that crap to try to save his job. Coach Whitney left him a winning program and he turned it into crap.

West just was not good DaHill.
He took over when The Wiz retired for the 2nd time.
That program was not rock bottom when he got it. :smh:

West was Alcorn's basketball version of Ripsaw.

Are you saying this article is a bunch of lies? I was hoping that things have not gotten this bad.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/columns/story?columnist=oneil_dana&id=3221302

Hell na its not untrue... well i know the part about the trainer isnt untrue... at the AAMU and Alcorn game here, an ASU player got hurt. Alcorn's "trainer" didnt even get off the bench. AAMU trainer had to run to the floor.. he then had to MOTION for Alcorns trainer to come over to at least show him what to do.

If that story wasn't true-why didn't anyone from Alcorn State say anything to deny it? I showed one former Alcorn student and he said it was like that when he went there.

If stuff in that story wasn't true, somebody should have said something instead of staying quiet. Somebody had to give ESPN permission to do that story on the basketball team.

One question remains-Who are they going to get?

Alcorn State is not an attractive job right now. The only way to get attention is to maybe get Larry Smith, who played at Alcorn and is right now an assistant in the WNBA. He does have 2 NBA titles and worked in the NBDL as a head coach.

CJ, the new president is not playing. When he read that ESPN article, to say that he was livid would be an understatement. Changes have been going on since he took over and look for them to continue.
From what I've been told, the athletic budget has been seriously upgraded. I'm pretty sure that the conditions that they listed in that ESPN article, won't exist anymore.

CJ, I talked to you about the bus part of that article during the SWAC tourney.

Trust me bro, all that stuff in that article wasn't true. I'm not denying some of it was. West knew he was on the chopping block and allowed that article to be written. West hasn't accomplished anything in 5 years. As far Alcorn not being an attractive job, I have to totally disagree.
