Should have gone with my gut feelings last week.

PV at Valley
Grambling at TX Southern-- Game will be closer than expected because TSU will at least try to run the ball and shorten the game.
Jackson St. at UAPB-- No offense is no offense.
Bama A&M vs. Bama St.-- Prove me wrong Hornets.

WEEK 9 in the SWAC
10-28-06

Predictions by Tigerpride: THE Logical One

Last week THE Logical One was 2-2 last week. My beloved Jackson State fell to Grambling while Alcorn blasted Southern. Both were well attended games. AAMU and Texas Southern lost as predicted to UAPB and MS Valley, respectively. The SWAC race is even clearer with the EAST to be determined by AAMU and Jackson State while the WEST race is between Grambling and UAPB. Sure, several scenarios are possible but logically, these are the 4 teams on track to make it to the SWAC Championship game.

Alcorn State and Southern are both OPEN this week.

Jackson State vs. UAPB @ Golden Lion Stadium in Pine Bluff, AR (6:30 PM): This game is almost do-or-die for UAPB. After upsetting both Grambling and AAMU, UAPB appears primed to make their first SCG appearance. In their way is Jackson State?.the top team in the SWAC EAST. JSU can lose this game and still go to Birmingham by winning their last three home games. UAPB, on the other hand, must win this game to keep the edge over Grambling State. UAPB has been up and down all season but they have certainly been up these last two weeks. They have a very balanced offensive attack but their defense ranks near the bottom in the SWAC. JSU has a proficient offense but lives off of its stern defense. JSU will probably be tested through the air but they will stop UAPB?s ground game and pull out a bigger win than expected.

Prediction: Jackson State 27; UAPB 14

Prairie View A&M vs. Mississippi Valley State @ Rice-Totten Stadium in Itta Bena, MS (2PM): It?s Homecoming in Itta Bena and what a more logical team to host than Prairie View? After upsetting Southern, Prairie View is looking more and more like the Prairie View we all grew to know. I can give you my MS Valley State predictions now for the rest of the season. They will not lose another game!!! With games against Alcorn and Alabama State remaining, they are certainly in the drivers seat and a winning season is almost guaranteed.

Prediction: Prairie View 7; Mississippi Valley 28

Alabama A&M vs. Alabama State @ Legion Field in Birmingham, AL (2:30 PM): This game is billed as the Magic City Classic and it is the event of the year in Alabama. Over 60,000 fans are expected to turn out to watch Alabama State end the SCG hopes of AAMU. This will be Alabama State?s SCG. The looming question is who will play QB for Alabama State. Regardless, Alabama State will have too much defense for the lethargic AAMU offense to overcome. As AAMU falls victim to the big play, their SCG dreams will go down the drain.

Prediction: AAMU 10; Alabama State 20

Texas Southern vs. Grambling State @ Robertson Stadium in Houston, TX (1 PM): Grambling will be on a high after upsetting Jackson State on their home turf but Texas Southern will not lay down for them. The logic behind moving this game off campus is beyond me because no one is coming but the football teams and the bands to see Texas Southern wear down as usual in the 4th quarter.

Prediction: Texas Southern 21; Grambling 35

Valley
J-state
ASU
GRAMBLING over TXSU and then off to the SWAC championship against JSU
SWAC Championship
GSU-48 JSU-14:winkgrin:

I guess we haven't proven ourselves enough yet! People always want to make excuses about how we win the games. Well folks, sad to say :) its not the coaches fault you lose the games ;).......... We're just that DAMN good! lol

PV at Valley: Valley will put this one away early. Valley by 16

Grambling at TX Southern: The G-men can't afford to lose ground on the Golden Lions in a run for the west title. Taking TSU for granted is not a good idea considering how hard they played Valley and knowing how gram got out of valley with the win. The upset of the week. TSU by 2

Jackson St. at UAPB: If we hadn't witnessed it for ourselves you would have thought the tigers of jstank were continuing their domination for the past three years, as much shat as they are talking this year. But we know better. Fresh off of threes years of pitiful football under Bell this Jstank team is playing above their heads and talent level as witnessed last week at gram. This Pine Bluff team is not one to be overlooked and now enters each contest expecting to win.Balance is the key. The streak will continue. UAPB by 17

Bama A&M vs. Bama St. A&M ran into a more determined Golden Lion team last week and are not surprised that they lost. Look for them to crush a sorry Bama St team. A&M by 25

SU vs. Open: After losing 5 of the last six games this SU team is reeling and there is no hope in sight, firing your OC will not change the outcome of the remainder of your season. Look for Open to run it up dat azz:vomit: and continue the downfall of the proud. Open in a sqeaker!!!!

that isht is funny. Open gone get in dat arse. lol ha ha ha :lmao:

Valley 31, PV 14

A living legend

Texas Southern Grambling State Robertson Stadium Houston, TX 1:00pm
Well with TSU still having a slim shot at a miracle year this should be a catfight.
Can the bayou Tigers intimidate the Texas Tigers into submission? Or did they shoot their wad in the blowout win against JSU?

La. Tigers by 15

Miss Valley State Prairie View A&M Itta Bena, MS 2:00pm Homecoming
This should be a good weekend for the Delta Devils who have seem to run out of gas as usual at this time of the season.

Devils by 13

Alabama A&M Alabama State Legion Field Birmingham, AL 2:30pm Magic City Classic
This is a huge game in Alabama, both because of the interstate rivalry and because ASU still has hope of another title.
Usually the underdog can sniff up a little surprise in this battle so don?t be surprise at any of the results.

Hornets by 3

Arkansas-Pine Bluff Jackson State Golden Lion Stadium Pine Bluff, AR 6:30pm
Big Game, Big Time, look for the lions to stay focus on their goal.
The Tigers have been doing just enough to get by but that all ended last weekend, don?t look for them to rebound just yet.
