Wanted: 10th game for Prairie View A&M football

What classic called you? This was the main reason for the 9 game mandated schedule so that we could help each out but several ADs thought it would be easy to schedule non conference games rather than play another SWAC school. JSU even went after Stillman. SU played a D2 school. Most schools want the SWAC to bail them out because they know they can make money off of us without giving up too much.

MD, I STILL think it's easy to find 4 out of conference games. Before UAPB and AAMU joined the SWAC, we only had 8 teams and we had no problem filling dates and we did not have to go to 1-A schools to do it. One difference now though is that one 1-AA games count for 1-A teams whereas back then a 1-AA game only counted every 4 years. Now the 1-A teams are sucking up all of the good non-conference match-ups like PV vs SHSU. They need to eliminate the 1-AA vs 1-A match-ups.

when you call and ask for a game with a school with the same open dates and one school fails to answer...what do you do?

Texas College, etc. won't play us anymore.......they said take us out the rolodex :emlaugh:

If PV is calling and not getting an answer, that's the pot calling the kettle black, especially since that's what happened when SHSU called asking why they were not on the PV slate that the Panthers announced after SHSU had announced theirs. :shame:

This is SAD... Schedules should be set 2 years in advance. And the conference would rather pull everyone down to up those that are trying to help themselves.

Is this true tbf? Did SHSU officials call and an attempt to reschedule was refuted? :D

It's time to put this to rest. :)

:lmao:

We should kick Mississippi Valley, Alcorn, and Prarie View out of the SWAC and put Texas Southern and Pine Bluff on probation! :emlaugh:

It's ironic the programs mentioned above haven't been cutting out sports and moving home games......

How about the schools above send SU some "bailout" funds so you can play at home.....:D

At least we have a full schedule of 11 games.

Maybe Prairie View can call up Southlake Carroll or Katy High to help them out with their schedule.

Just like a cat bagged into a corner, you tryna' come out fighting huh? It's not even necessary numero uno. lol

We need a 10th game. Save the smack for -----------------> :D

Question:

What if Prairie View is possibly in contention for an At-Large bid for a playoff spot again. Would a nine game schedule hurt the Panthers chances?

Do they have any sub-Div I teams on their schedule?

They'll probably have to be 8-1 to have any chance and that would probably keep them on the sidelines still because at 8-1, they would more than likely be in the mix for the SCG.

You already know the answer to that question so why ask it?

The problem is that two years ago, they had just decided to go with the 7 game format. To me, they have not given the 7-game format time to work. They can't keep switching back and forth.

Club football teams are not allowed for Div I teams - I believe someone on AGS said. Also, that schedule is outdated as word is that the team is playing South Alabama, who is in the midst of an exhibition schedule this coming year.

I wasn't at PV then....can't help you on that.....the school I'm referring to knows who they are

but the crazy part about it is that we receive e-mails every week from schools across the country asking for games on various dates so this is not anything new in football terms...

but this is what happens when you engage in classics as they can pull the plug on you anytime
