Buckweat1911: I hear ya dawg team. It was 7 of us. We know each other like the left sacks.

You can know 40 other men/women....impossible.

I see I have caused an uproar from the Sigma's and Zeta's. First of all let me say that I am a member of KAPPA ALPHA PSI Fraternity. I pledged into the BETA ZETA (NON GREATER ) CHAPTER in 80. Let me start out by saying that I do respect all Greek organizations and the work that they do in their various communities. I just hope that the one's complaining about my post are actively involved with their local chapter. If you are not active then you really have no reason to complain because you don't see fit to continue working for the good of your organization. I was not trying to make fun of any of the other organizations but I will stand by my opinion that the Sigma's and Zeta's are not as popular or recognizable as the other fraternities or sororities. We all can name famous members of our organizations. But I can say that Johnnie Cochran, John Conyers,Tom Bradley,Bill Russell,Ralph Abernathy, Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson, Arthur Ashe and Gen. Daniel "Chappie James became a member the same way that I did. They were college students or college graduates who pledged.

Look at this Ness.

Look at you now. "I do respect all Greek Organizations." But at first you post NESS like:
"What I mean is that the Zeta's have always been a very very very very very very very distant third to the AKA's and Delta's in all categories. I never hear anyone say I going to be a Zeta. They just seem to one day show up with a blue tee shirt on. The same thing with the Sigma's. They are always a very very very very very very very very very very very very very vewry very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very distant fourth to the Nupe's, Que's and Alpha's. This is not smack but truth. You better watch out; Iota Phi Theta is gaining ground on you. There is no need for you to snap at the truth. "
AND
Why would anyone take that kind of punishment to be a Zeta? Maybe a Delta or an AKA, but a Zeta. They must have a different breed of Zeta in Virginia than they do in the south.
I believe that is very very very disrespectful. I dont believe ones activeness in a local chapter have anything to do with ones love for the organization. But to squash all doubt about me being active, I am an active member in the Alpha Beta Sigma Chapter here in Houston, Tx.
Let me get this str8, I believe what you wanted to say was The Sigmas/Zeta are not as large as some of the other Pan-Hell Organizations? Or do you mean Popular as in Kappa Alpha Psi is not as popular as Alpha Phi Alpha or Omega Psi Phi? Because the Nupes are a very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very distant Third behind the Alphas and the Ques.

But I do agree with you. We all can name famous members until the cows come home, so lets leave them out.

Oh, Let me drop this here because I am feeling left out.

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
Beta Delta Chapta, Fa` `91
Texas Southern University.

Also amethyst08, what's up with these sororites having 150 pledges online? My ex pledged AKA at Grambling and there were 100 + ladies online. Once she crossed, she didn't hardly know any of them. What's up with that? I personally think no line should be more than 15 pledgees. When I crossed the Burning Sands of Omega Psi Phi, it was just me and my lb. We know everything about eachother and we are close like brothers. I feel if you have 100+ people pledging, there is no way there can be any kind of bond between all of the pledgees. What's your take on that?

Buck,
I don't know why some chapters have such large lines...I wasn't there. Personally, IMHO 150 is a wee bit much. You don't get a chance to bond with the people on the line when there are that many folks. You aren't gonna get any agruement from me on that. But I will say this...nowadays, you have to be very careflu who you accept or reject. People let personal nit picky stuff cloud their vision when looking at candidates. The very person that isn't accepted just might be the hardest working person you will find. People are losing focus. They need to leave petty childish mess outta chapter buisness.

I WOULDN'T GIVE A DAYUM IF I HADN'T DONE ISHT SINCE THE DAY I CROSSED, IF YOU DISRESPECT MY FRAT OR SORORS I'M GONNA SHED SOME LIGHT ON YOUR IGNORANT ARSE!!!

You still haven't answered the questions in my first post.

BTW,

GAMMA PHI, Alabama A&M University, is the BEST Kappa chapter I've ever come in contact with.

Attack Dog; When I was in school the Nupes didn't run the yard. We owned it. The other frats had good brothers but they were never as visable as us. Beta Zeta was suspended in the early 90's and did not returned until 99. During this time the other frats remained in a holding pattern. No one else really took over. As far as the state of Virginia is concerned I consider it to be more of a Middle Eastern state or the southern most state of the east coast. If Virginia had fought with the Union in the Civil War then it probally would not be considered a southern state. I have kept up with Gamma Phi over the years and they have always been a strong chapter but from the late 70's until the early 90's BETA ZETA was just better than all others. I know this may sound arrogant but it's true.
