I've worked with a few NFL & NBA guys in real estate and my sales partner sold a few houses to some Houston Texans rookies. I couple of the smart ones paid cash for regular houses and drove regular cars which I loved to see.
One guy signed his contract on a Wednesday, bought a 6,200 sqft house on Thursday, bought a BMW 7-series on Friday, an Escalade on Saturday, etc. True story.
Different players have different mindsets. BTW my former sales partner sold Vince Young the house he bought for his mother in Houston, that I guess he just moved back into now. It is what it is... but I wouldn't call him a victim.
