Does anyone know how to turn a video file into a gif file?

For example:

Aye Piper -- i used Animation Shop for this one I did about a year ago...
It's pretty simple to use --- but what I did animate still shops, haven't tried just straight video though... Good to know that option is available as well!

oh yeah, I used it for my banner as well... forgot about that!
