Allen did not advance on a missed PAT. A previous undefeated and Texas 5A number 6 ranked Spring Westfield of Nacogdoches, TX missed a field goal try at the end of regulation that sent the game into overtime. Allen stopped Spring Westfield on their first possession in overtime and went on the score to win the game.

Allen will upset SLC. Nathan Dic (Allen QB) and Dan Buckner (Allen WR) is the best QB/WR tandem in the country. Cedar Hill and Garland will be another great game in Texas 5A. All of these schools are in the DFW metroplex.

TGee, I think we'll be talking about why did SLC run up the score the way they did. lol

Yes, Dodge (bastid ;) ) got those guys playing good team ball. Always has. Always will. They are indeed very well coached. You talking about that QB/WR combo reminds me of this other "super" WR/QB combo out of Lufkin and, well... :smh: we see where that "idividual" stuff gets you. Home watching the remaining team during the playoffs. :)

True, Garland High was s'posed to have a pretty good team this year. Can't refute that. But, Garland ain't SLC. Those dragons keep rolling and rolling and rolling...

I wonder where Dodge's former running buddy is these days? (Brent Duhon) I swear they should put those 2 names (Todd Dodge/Brent Duhon) in my casket @ death because I can never ever forget them SOBs. Fuggers! :slap:

P, I only speak about that tandem because it is so great, but Allen has many great athelets and is a very well coached team. They don't make mental mistakes. It will be a great game. I expect a hugh crowd at Texas staduim.

Curtis rules again, wins 21st state title

NEW ORLEANS ? For St. Charles Catholic, playing John Curtis Christian must be getting pretty old. But winning state championships certainly isn?t getting old for the Patriots.

Curtis won its third straight state championship, fifth in six seasons and 21st overall by beating the Comets, 41-7, in the Class 2A opener of the State Farm Prep Classic on Friday night in the Superdome. Lutcher and Independence played in the Class 3A championship later.

I don't know if this is old or not but the paper here reported yesterday that Lakeland might have to forfeit games due to its running back alledgedly taking some clothing in exchange for giving some autographs. The lady who gave the clothes denies receiving anything for it, i.e., the autographs, and said the clothing amounted to tee-shirts. It's still being investigated.

Yep, we are waiting to see what the FHSAA investigation exposes. Chris Rainey is the real deal as a football player, but he is just learning about what things you can or cannot say to a reporter regardless to whether they are valid. It might very well cost Lakeland the championship.

He doesn't give those kids and that programme their due respect G. :shame: At this point, they're unstoppable. The ONLY thing that I think would slow them down is playing in an outside venue w/ bad weather. Otherwise, as I'd stated before, just hand them the Big class AAAAA championship trophy.

Po' TGee. :shame:

Colerain, one of the teams that has been vying for the Ohio DI championship for the last few years and a frequently listed team in the USAToday, has lost its coach. He's been hired by the new head coach at the University of Cincinnati.

I'm not surprised. He's fifty-ish and can retire from the school system and double dip. But the reason for my lack of surprise is that I believe that he knew his run was over and that next year his team was not going to be competitive. He's getting out while the getting is good. Smart move on his part. He won't have to deal with the high school craziness (parents also), draw a retirement check, a paycheck, and just coach db's and recruit - not too shabby at all.

Regards.

Allen got taken out of the game early. They were hyped early, very early. After intercepting a SLC pass in SLC's territory, Allen turned the ball over on a fumble which SLC returned for a td. Allen's qb is injured on the play and things went downhill from there.

Defensively, Allen couldn't hang with Tre Newton or the receivers.....or Tre Newton. And they couldn't stop that Newton kid.:slap:

Allen lost their starting QB early in the game, and the second string QB was very nervous. Man, SLC is fo real. It is not that I didn't believe in SLC, but I have seen Allen play several times this year. I didn't think SLC could stop that passing attack.

I have never seen a faster, stronger, or more discipline high school football team in my entire life. SLC should be number 1 in the USA.

SLC and Cedar Hill should match up and give the people their money worth this weekend.
