UPSET in HUNTSVILLE????????

The Bulldogs are riding high. MVSU can pitch and catch with anyone and have shown steady improvement.

With the Bulldogs scheduled for the big Alabama showdown next week with Alabama State does the Valley have a chance at pulling the upset???

This is definitely the SWAC game of the week.

Them Delta Devils are for real and will be a challenge for Mathis and company.

Valley has improved but they aren't at the level to beat quality teams yet. They don't have the guns or the bullets for the guns 'yet' to beat AAMU. Give them about two years of recruits and they will start making noise.

But, anything is possible especially if a team looks over another one.

A possible Valley upset is not that far-fetched. A&M is not an explosive offensive team. Although they have a quality defense, Valley is capable of making a couple of "big" plays in the passing game (and with the qb's running abilities) to score some offensive
points.

But Valley is not facing a quality team this weekend.
Valley has enough offense and just enough defense to win this game. Mind you, they wont need much defense. Valley can pass the ball with anyone in the SWAC.....Weaver is the second best QB in the SWAC. I dont know if you have seen Valley this year, but they aint the same old Valley. I wouldnt be surprised if Valley ran away with this one(factoring out the refs).

Valley has one of those quick passing games which will negate the rush of Mathis. Lets see what happens.

Grits, you've stooped to ridin' the Valley jock harder than ever this year! You are using protection, aren't you?

_ _ _! _ _ _ _ er! _ _ _ _ est! :smh:

Like I said before... Valley is improved but they are not that improved. Remember this is the same team that couldn't beat Southern. If they had that powerful offense then they should have blown Southern away. Everyone has a chance though. I will give them that.

But, AAMU is far from a pushover that you think they are. They have the number one defense in the SWAC now. Far better than the defense that Southern has. Their defense makes impact plays. That's not by accident or because of the people they are playing. I was at the Grambling/AAMU game and they have improved since then. If you don't think AAMU is a quality team, that's your choice. They will have at LEAST 6 wins at the end of the year.

They play as a TEAM!!!!

Do you understand that?

Mathis is not the team, he is apart of the TEAM! If you think that we are going to let Valley do anything you are sadly mistaken. This ain't the smack board GR. Take that crap over there. This is the board where we talk serious. But, if you feel that way. I really understand why. Matter of fact, I was feeling the same way when Bama State beat jsu. What ever help you can get is appreciated, right?

:smh:

were u at the SU game, did u see the circumstances that led to the 19-16 defeat? I don't think so. Honestly minus the refs that game would have been a blowout. You can think we don't have any weapons all you want, and see don't you guys get blasted.
I'll just give u three lottery numbers 7, 5, and 85:D

Mike, I think AAMU will win it but by no means will it be an easy win for AAMU. Valley is going to give your defense all they can handle and their defense will be able to contain you because your offense is not that good. Since the Gram game, your defense has not had an offensive challenge. Totten and Gregory will have something for ya.

you also said we would be 1-5 at this point of the season...

I was not at the game but I listen to it on the radio. So, I couldn't tell you if you were cheated or not. But, in every game there are bad calls. Next time, you know not to be so close to a team and the refs can't take the game from you.

Like I said... You aren't there yet. Just give it sometime.

Our win streak began against a team with a better offense than Gram, Texas Southern!

I'll put Tenn. St.'s 2nd half offense against ANYONE's!

I know what this is!

Since Valley gave JSU ,which in your mind has the best offense and defense in the SWAC, all it could handle, there is no way that AAMU can beat them! If AAMU does beat them and have a better day on DEFENSE and OFFENSE than JSU, this will just add to the total of your DESTROYED THEORIES!!!:)

GR....
You would not give AAMU credit for having an outstanding defense if we had the Steel Curtain nor would you acknowledge that we have a QUALITY Athletic Program that is able to compete with QUALITY ATHLETES in ALL SPORTS!!

We will see about MVSU. Unlike most of your jsue counterparts, the members of THE DAWGPOUND know that this game with Valley is not going to be easy nor will it be a run-a-way! This is not the game that either side can afford to look ahead to the next opponent nor can either of us take the other for granted.

Most of the non-enlightened think that all you will have to do is show up against AAMU and a victory is guaranteed??? What's up with that snit? Those of you allowing Hatred to rule your common sense should not bet any money with your bookie this weekend???

AAMU - 17
MVSU - 14

The only thing about A&M is they play down to their opponents. This is not good. They will beat Valley, but if they let Valley hang around, you never know. Valley is still learning to win. Once they learn, they will be dangerous.

I haven't seen either team play this season, so I'm not making any predictions.

I will only say that for A&M, this is the dreaded "sandwich game". A game against a "perceived" weaker opponent that comes between two games against stronger and more important opponents.

A&M is coming off an impressive and emotional win on homecoming over Tennesse State, and have their biggest rival, Alabama State, waiting in the wings. In between those two games comes lil' ole Mississippi Valley.

Watch out.

I'm not predicting it, but if the players and coaches have not gotten over the Tennessee St. game, or have their minds on Bama State, it could spell trouble.

Again, I am not making any predictions. Good luck to A&M and Mississipp Valley.

like last year and the year before that JSU wont be in the SCG once again......

you would think that after all this time they would realize they are not factor in the EAST anymore.....they have been reduced to relying on other teams to take teams out! I mean seriously JSU is not a good team......anyone with a offense can beat them like Bama State did last week! JSU doesnt pose a threat especially when they already have one conference loss and will have a couple more in a few weeks......

Aamu is on a serious run right now. I think they will beat MVSU. (and add more suspense to the MCC.)

This is why I am glad Aamu is in the Swac now. The MCC is more than braggin' rights.........it's survival.

Well said Biff!

The SWAC is not just about some Miss. and La. schools anymore. To win the SWAC East, you must come through Alabama not once... but twice!
