UNO Heads to Southern (Baseball)

Hey TT, since when did camouflage become the primary color for the Privateers? :retard:

With you being a big time proponent of teams not wearing their primary colors, you must have had an aneurism watching this game right?

US Army donated the jerseys and an auction was held to raise $$$ for the baseball team. On Saturday, they are wearing the powder blue jerseys that the 1974 and 1984 College World Series teams wore. Those two teams will be honored pre-game and announced as Class of 2009 HOF Inductees. On St. Patrick's Day, they wore green (good thing they were not playing the Green Wave).

Baseball is a bit different. It seems every team has 20 jerseys and special commemorative jerseys (i.e SWAC teams wearing Negro league jerseys when they do). If you wear jerseys, you got to have reasons behind it. Most of the special jerseys have all been auctioned off and have raised thousands of dollars for the team. Fundraising at it's finest...?

Football - when you are on the biggest stage (i.e Bayou Classic) - you wear the appropriate jerseys, the ones you are trying to market your image and name. No one knows Grambling for being red. They know them as black and gold. That's a dead horse we beat numerous times before. I still don't get why the Texans go "Battle Red" on national TV games or rivalry games. The crowd will already be amped up. Save "Battle Red" for a foe no one cares about (i.e the Vikings!).

Haven't heard anything lately on the status of UNO's athletic department's life support vest thrown out by the "rich dude".

I think it's bad business to not keep the public updated on such a "disturbing" situation? :smh:

Too much going on behind the scenes right now. Lots of interesting happenings. The Louisiana and New Orleans folks on this board would recognize a lot of the names involved in this.

You can't leak little things out as you suggest. Completely ruins the impact of your announcement and does not generate the pub that will happen when you have one big announcement after the next.

At the last two press conferences - EVERY media outlet in the city was there (both news and sports side). Never would happen unless Bobby Knight was brought in as the head basketball coach or football was started up with Priscilla Slade at the helm. All about impact my friend...

You'll just have to wait and see... :D

So you don't know.

GOTCHA!

TT what happen today  . ULL pulled out a can on UNO today. Same score SU beat UNO by earlier this season. 18-2. Rodderick looked really frustrated today. Pounded the wall several times as HR's went over his head.
